PGA Tour: Valero Texas Open 2022 Golf Picks and Betting Odds

The 2021-22 season of golf continues this week with Valero Texas Open on Thursday morning held at the TPC San Antonio - AT&T Oaks Course. As with every event on the golf schedule, we've got three outright winner picks, ranging from one of the favorites to some mega value!
After picking Hideki Matsuyama to win the Sony Open already this season, we're feeling good about going again with this week's picks.
So let's look to this week's Texas Golf Open and three guys that we like to win this week's golf tournament, varying from one of the best chances, who still represents good value, down to some nice plays on a couple of stars that look set for big weeks at longer odds! We also show you the best sportsbook promos to play.
With a host of big names out there, we're set for an awesome four days of golf... and betting in Texas! As we do each and every tournament, we provide you with our best golf picks for outright winner, as well as some in-play picks throughout.
Let's get into our best bets for this week ⬇️
Golf Picks: 2022 Valero Texas Open
Top Pick - Corey Conners
With the news of Abe Ancer pulling out this week, we've had to shift our focus to a different guy we were liking this week, in Canadian Corey Conners.
Conners is coming in to this week after a super impressive 3rd at the Dell Match Play, and will be looking to build on that at a course that should suit his consistent iron play.
Although he hasn't been as good as last season just yet, his two finishes before the Match Play were T11 at the API and T26 at THE PLAYERS, showing that he's definitely trending in the right direction.
But now for the most important stat. His one ever PGA victory came at this very tournament and course! The 2019 champion has played here three times, with the other two seeing him T26 and T14.
These odds are very nice for a guy in form that loves playing the course!
Value Pick - Charley Hoffman
The man simply loves playing here. First off, check this out from the golf stats guru himself, Justin Ray:
Best cumulative score to par at TPC San Antonio, @valerotxopen history
— Justin Ray (@JustinRayGolf) March 29, 2022
Charley Hoffman, -73...
Aaron Baddeley, -32
Corey Conners, -30
Duncan, Popovich, Parker, Ginobili, Hoffman.
Now, lets look a little deeper at Hoffman's time at the Valero:
- 11 starts
- 11 made cuts
- 9 Top-25s
- 5 Top-10s
- 1 3rd-place finish
- 3 2nd-place finishes
- 1 win
Yep, ridiculous. His highest finish so far in 2021-22 is a T22 at the Fortinet Championship, but there's quite literally no better course for him to get back to his best that this very one.
Dark Horse - Robert MacIntyre
This one is a proper dark horse, dart throw, with Bobby Mac coming into this one with little form to track.
Whilst the 25-year-old recently said that his ultimate goal is to win the Scottish Open, he has Masters winner written all over him too.
After a T12 finish at last year's Masters tournament, MacIntyre will be out to perform in a similar fashion next week, with this week's event the perfect tune up for him.
