BetMGM Available States
BetMGM launched in The Grand Canyon state back in September 2021. They are licensed via its partnership with the Arizona Cardinals and the Gila Hotel and casino. State laws in Arizona state that bettors must be 21 or over and are subject to a 10% online tax rate.
BetMGM opened their proverbial online doors to the District back in June 2021. It operates under D.C.'s Office of Lottery and Gaming, with an exclusive partnership with the Washington Nationals. Bettors must be at least 18 years old.
Iowa was one of the first Midwestern states to legalize online betting and in January 2021 the Hawkeye state welcomed BetMGM. With the Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission overseeing the license, bettors aged 21 and over can bet on a wide range of sporting markets, however player props bets are excluded when betting on college games.
The Prairie state has allowed sports betting since March 2022 and soon after BetMGM joined the market. Regulated by the Illinois Gaming Board, bettors must be at least 21 years of age. There is a wide variety of markets to bet on, although bets cannot be placed on college teams based in Illinois.
The Hoosier state was among one of the first states to approve BetMGM back in February 2020. Regulated by the Indiana Gaming Commission, bettors must be 21+, with plenty of sporting markets to choose from. However, in-play college props bets are restricted although pre-match props are allowed.
BetMGM entered the Sunflower state back in September 2022. They operate under a state license overseen by the Kansas Lottery. If you are 21 or over there are dozens of sporting markets including college sports with no restrictions.
BetMGM has been active in the Bluegrass State since September 2023 with the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission regulating the market. Bettors must be at least 21 and have access to a variety of sporting markets.
Sports betting became legal in the Pelican state at the end of January 2022 and soon after BetMGM launched under regulation by the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, although there are 9 parishes that it is not legal to place a bet in. Bettors must be at least 21 and be in one of the 55 parishes where placing bets is legal.
BetMGM launched in the Bay state in March 2023, operating under the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. Bettors aged 21 and over can place bets across dozens of sports including college sports although not on in-state college teams, unless the team is involved in a tournament.
