PGA Tour: Genesis Invitational 2022 Golf Picks and Betting Odds

The 2021-22 season of golf continues this week with the Genesis Invitational on Thursday morning held at Riviera Country Club in southern California. As with every event on the golf schedule, we've got three outright winner picks, ranging from one of the favorites to some mega value!

After picking Hideki Matsuyama to win the Sony Open a few weeks ago at +2000 odds, we're feeling good about going again with this week's picks.

So let's look to this week's Genesis Open and three guys that we like to win this week's golf tournament, varying from one of the best chances, who still represents good value, down to some nice plays on a couple of stars that look set for big weeks at longer odds! We also show you the best sportsbook promos to play.

With crowds back and a host of big names out there, we're set for an awesome four days of golf... and betting... in California! As we do each and every tournament, we provide you with our best golf picks for outright winner, as well as some in-play picks throughout.

Let's get into our best bets for this week ⬇️

Golf Picks: 2022 Genesis Invitational

Top Pick - Justin Thomas

We're kicking off this write up with an interesting stat we got from Justin Thomas Tracker on twitter, which is that JT has secured a win by the end of March in four of his last five seasons.

With it seeming unlikely that he will suit up at next week's Honda Classic, this is his last chance to make it five from six.

Now whilst Thomas obviously won't be out to win for the sake of keeping this stat up, he will be out to make sure he gets a win as early as possible in the year once again.

Also, his results this season have quietly been VERY good, with a win right around the corner:

  • CJ Cup - T18
  • Mayakoba - 3rd
  • Hero World - T5
  • Sentry TOC - T5
  • Farmers - T20
  • Phoenix - T8

We're taking the +1600 for him to add a 1st to that run!

Value Pick - Max Homa

Max Homa playing in Cali? Yeah, we want it.

Two of Homa's three PGA wins have been in California, with one of which being this exact tournament just last year.

The Burbank-born, 35th-ranked player always loves coming back to his home state (he moved to Arizona in 2019) and will be out to go big again this week.

As above, Homa won this tournament last season in a playoff against Tony Finau, showing his comfort not only with the state's conditions, but also with this very course.

Whenever you can get +4000 on a young guy that won the same tournament just 12 months earlier, you simply have to sprinkle.

Dark Horse - Tony Finau

Speaking of that playoff from last season, we're going with the guy Homa defeated, with Tony Finau sitting at massive odds of +5000 this week.

We actually picked Tony here last year as well and are willing to run it back despite the heartbreak of that second-placed finish.

Finau has made his career on consistent high finishes, and will be out to get that back on track after a couple of missed cuts in his last two events.

This is a proper dart throw based on his form, but it's just not often you can get these odds on him, especially at a course he feel very comfortable and confident at.
