NBA- More Betting
UNBELIEVABLE GAMBLING STORY : The Guy Who Profited $27k Betting Only On Unders During the NBA Season

In gambling there is perhaps no greater test of psychological strength than betting a total. Whether it be player props or a game total, often the heart trumps the mind when it comes to laying down the wager. For Bradley Mayhue, he flipped the script and profited more than $27,000 by betting the unders during the NBA season.
Mayhue, who works as a forklift operator, only started sports betting in February of this year, but quickly learnt that betting the overs on player props was sending him broke. Taking a leaf from George Costanza’s book, the father decided to do the complete opposite - and it paid off.

“Betting unders started for me when I would put these parlays on for players to score over 20, 25, 30 points and they would let me down more times than a little,” the bettor from Pennsylvania said.
Starting with a bankroll of just $25, the 26-year-old bettor slowly built his empire through small parlays, then cashed what he referred to as his first significant bet: Steph Curry under 26.5 points while the two-time NBA MVP was in the midst of a career-best scoring run in the backend of the season.
While some sports bettors meticulously pour over game video and stat history, Brad, who is on Twitter under the handle @MayhueBrad, says he makes his bets based upon the simple law of probabilities - that hot streaks eventually end.

“I don’t really put any research into it (my bets) other than good odds and if a player has had consecutive games of scoring a lot,”
“I figure they’re due to have a bad game, so it’s the perfect time to bet their max unders in points,” he said.
It’s a crazy strategy - if you can even call it that - but it’s one that kept on winning. When Giannis Antetokounmpo went down in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Atlanta Hawks, the unders expert was there, winning close to $8000 from a $100 bet on a strictly unders parlay for the Greek Freak’s points, rebounds and assists.

The fortuitous luck rolled on, culminating with a Devin Booker under 21.5 points into Khris Middleton under 17.5 points in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. That parlay netted $17.5k from an outlay of just $267.

It’s a run that beggars belief, especially considering the fact that by his own admission, Mayhue doesn’t put in the same amount of time into researching picks that others do - essentially going off gut feel - but it poses an interesting question: why are we as a community so obsessed with betting the overs?
In a recent poll conducted on the Dimers Twitter handle, we asked the online gambling community about their betting habits when it comes to player prop and game total. Over 40% of respondents said that they ONLY bet the over.
When it comes to Over/Under betting in any sport, what type of bettor are you? 🤔#GamblingTwitter💵

That’s a staggering number which indicates bettors are rooting for a high scoring, attractive game rather than judging the stats and making a decision from there.
So, are we allowing our instincts to overcome our better judgement when it comes to betting the total? Do the sportsbooks already know this when setting the total lines? They’re questions we need to consider.
With the profits, Mayhue says he plans to spoil his 3-year-old son and 8-year-old stepson, as well as his fiancé, Savannah.
Whether it be intentional, or by total luck, Bradley Mayhue has seemingly stumbled upon a gold mine that has changed his life.
