US Open Final: Best Bet and Predictions for Ons Jabeur vs. Iga Swiatek on Saturday, September 10
Ons Jabeur vs. Iga Swiatek
This US Open final is one that can really put Swiatek in a league of her own in the women's game. She had been in that position earlier in the year and then had a brief stretch in which she looked beatable for the first time in a very long time. But the 21-year-old has since found her game in New York, and her comeback win over Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals was the stuff of champions.
Swiatek now gets a crack at Jabeur, who has been remarkable all tournament long and was especially impressive in a dominant win over red-hot Caroline Garcia. Jabeur would be feeling great about her chances against pretty much any other player on the planet because of her recent form, but she will undoubtedly be somewhat bummed to look to the other side of the court and see Swiatek out there in this match.
The last time these two played was back in May, when Swiatek absolutely demolished her in a 6-2, 6-2 final in Rome. That performance had to have been demoralizing for Jabeur, and it's just hard to see her feeling all that great about seeing the same opponent in this final here.
Jabeur is a unique player and doesn't have a lot of holes in her game, but Swiatek is even more well-rounded and is in better shape than her opponent. At this point in the tournament, that is hard to ignore and that's why we're rolling with Swiatek to cover a small 2.5-game spread in the final. The odds are just way too favorable, especially when you factor in that Swiatek has already won two Grand Slams and knows what it takes to get the job done in a match this important.
PICK: Swiatek -2.5 games, which you can get at -120 with DraftKings
