US Open Best Bets: Top Tennis Picks and Predictions for Sunday, September 4, 2022

We've been rolling with our US Open picks since the start of the tournament and we don't expect anything to change with our Sunday best bets. We're deep into the tournament and that means we have an even better idea of what to expect in New York.

This daily tennis column will feature our best tennis bets of the day, with no minimum or maximum amount of picks. If we think you should bet something, we'll post it here and send you on your way.

This is one of the greatest tournaments there is, with the best players on the planet competing at an incredible venue. But just because we're focusing on these next two weeks in Flushing, that doesn't mean we're only looking at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Sometimes the best value can be had on the outer courts and it's our job to dig in and help you cash out.

Without further delay, keep reading for the picks and don't hesitate to try out DraftKings Sportsbook, where you can bet $1 on tennis and get $100 in FREE bets! Just make sure you use the promo code "DIMERSTENNIS"!

Karen Khachanov vs. Pablo Carreno Busta - Day session (scheduled for 5:30PM ET)

Sometimes you see a line that just disrespects a player a little too much and I believe that's what we have here. While Carreno Busta is a rock-solid player, I just don't see why he is such a heavy favorite over Khachanov. This obviously hasn't been the best season of the Russian's career, but he is just as talented as his opponent in this one.

Khachanov happens to have a slight advantage in the rest department here, as his opponent in his last match, Jack Draper, had to retire in the third set. With that said, Khachanov only spent two hours and 28 minutes on the court, while Carreno Busta has played nearly three hours in all three of his matches in New York thus far. That type of stuff tends to add up later in the tournament.

On top of the rest, it should also be noted that Khachanov has won three matches in a row against Carreno Busta. One of those was in the Olympics, but it was still a contest that both badly wanted to win. And given his success against the Spaniard in the past, we just find it really hard to lay off of Khachanov here.

We're rolling with the Russian to win at least two sets for a full unit and we're also sprinkling a half-unit on him to win outright. At the very least, he should keep this thing very close, but we believe he has a great shot at advancing.

PICK: Khachanov To Win At Least Two Sets, which you can get at +100 with DraftKings & Khachanov To Win (half-unit), which you can get at +190 with DraftKings

Liudmila Samsonova vs. Ajla Tomljanovic - Night session (scheduled for 7:30PM ET)

Tomljanovic is coming off of an amazing win over Serena Williams, and that is one that she will remember for the rest of her life. However, it can be hard to come down from the emotional high that a victory like that gives you. Let-down spots are very real in sports betting, and this just feels like a huge one here.

Tomljanovic also happens to be playing somebody that is arguably the best player on the planet right now. Samsonova comes into this match on a 13-match winning streak, and she actually hasn't even dropped a set in her last eight matches. Of course, the competition from this point on will be tougher and tougher for Samsonova, but she is up for the challenge. Her serve is an absolute weapon right now, and that's really the main reason to like her here. Tomjlanovic is fully capable of letting service games slip away, but Samsonova is as trustworthy as they come with the ball on her racquet. She should win this one rather easily.

PICK: Samsonova -2.5 Games, which you can get at -145 with DraftKings.
