US Open Best Bets: Top Tennis Picks for Saturday
Diego Schwartzman vs. Frances Tiafoe - Day session (scheduled for 2:00PM ET)
It really feels like Schwartzman is lucky to be here at this point, as he looked like he was going to lose to Jack Sock in the first round. Sock wasn't able to physically keep up his level, which gave Schwartzman the chance to move on. But he should be in some serious trouble against Tiafoe on Saturday.
While both of these players are somewhat smaller guys that like to play from the baseline, Tiafoe just has a little more of a well-rounded game. The American is the bigger server between the two by a wide margin, and that's just hard to ignore on faster courts like these. Tiafoe will also have a wild crowd urging him on in this one, and the crowds in New York fully have the ability to swing matches — just look at Serena Williams' win over Anett Kontaveit.
It's just hard not to back Tiafoe in this match, especially with this small of a spread. Over the course of a long match, 2.5 games is really nothing. Tiafoe is also capable of winning a lopsided set or two because Schwartzman's serve is so weak.
PICK: Tiafoe -2.5 Games, which you can get at -140 with DraftKings.

Alize Cornet vs. Danielle Collins - Night session (scheduled for 9:00PM ET)
Heading into this tournament, it was a little hard to trust Collins after having not seen her in quite some time. That was one of the reasons we picked her to lose to Naomi Osaka in the opening round. But Collins looks like she is really close to her peak form, and she actually hasn't dropped a set all tournament.
Cornet is a player that is known for pulling off big upsets here and there, but she really doesn't have many on-court advantages over Collins. These two also happened to have met at this year's Australian Open, where Collins ended up coming away with a 7-5, 6-1 win. This one might not be quite as lopsided, but we do see the American winning and that's why we're laying a little juice to back her.
PICK: Collins to win, which you can get at -170 with DraftKings.
