Free MLB Picks for Sunday July 31, 2022

Cardinals vs. Nationals, 1:35PM ET

This one has all the makings of a home run derby with two pitchers who are leaking runs like the Titanic after a confrontation with an iceberg. The Nationals will send Josiah Gray (7-6, 4.45 ERA) to the mound - the leader in opposition home runs, pitting him against Andre Pallante (3-4, 3.53 ERA) for the Cardinals. Pallante is having a rough stretch with a 7.85 ERA over 4 starts in the month of July. Too many factors here - smash the over.

BET: Total runs OVER 9 (-112)

Brewers vs. Red Sox, 1:35PM ET

The Brewers kept it rolling at Fenway yesterday but they didn't have it all their own way with Boston mounting a small amount of resistance before being blown out of the water late in the game to lose 9-4. A similar type scoreline could be in the offering today when the two close out their weekend series with Josh Winckowski (3-5, 5.18 ERA) and Aaron Ashby (2-8, 4.38 ERA) heading to the mound. Both pitchers are pretty easy to hit and there should be no shortage of players reaching base. Expect runs.

BET: Total runs OVER 9.5 (-114)

Rangers vs. Angels, 4:07PM ET

The Rangers and Angels complete our Sunday trio of overs after the two teams combined last night for 16 runs. Dane Dunning (1-6, 4.38 ERA) is the key here with the Texas ace enduring a tough season and a miserable July with a 6.39 ERA. If the Halo hitters can maintain their form from last night, we should be looking at another exciting, high scoring encounter.

BET: Total runs OVER 8.5 (-108)
