Astros vs. Athletics, 4:05PM ET

The formidable Paul Blackburn will return to the mound today for the Athletics, but despite his 8-1 team record as a starter in 2022, this result might be out of his hands. The issue for the A's this year is their run offense, ranking second last in the MLB with just 3.48 runs per game. That's an issue against Houston, a team that builds their identity on their ability to completely shut down their opposition, giving up just 3.37 runs per game. This feels like it'll be a gritty game.

Marlins vs. Rockies, 4:10PM ET

Even though their win/loss form hasn't been very good with just 3 wins in their last 10, the Marlins go in as heavy favorites for their series opener against the Rockies in Colorado. The total for this game is set exorbitantly high - an altitude tax if you will, but if the Marlins win this game, scoring a large amount of runs to do so just isn't their style. They've gone 12 straight games without the total reaching 11 runs and we think that continues.

Rays vs. Rangers, 8:05PM ET

Tampa Bay have had a weekend to remember, taking it right to the league-leading Yankees with two straight wins on Saturday and Sunday. They'll have nothing but confidence as they meet a Texas team who had their 4-game winning streak snapped by the Athletics yesterday. The Rays will have one of their best aces on the mound to start with Drew Rasmussen boasting an 8-1 team record when he takes to the field.
