Free MLB Picks for Monday June 20, 2022

Yankees vs. Rays, 7:10PM ET

The Yanks and Rays meet up for their third series of the past month in a back-and-forth tussle that has been tense and low scoring. Tonight's series opener is looking like it'll track a similar way with Shane McClanahan (7-3, 1.84 ERA) up against Gerrit Cole (6-1, 3.33 ERA). Both pitchers have taken part in this season series already, but Cole's numbers against the Rays have been slightly better with the ace restricting Tampa to just 1 run from 12 pitched innings. The Yankees are the better team without question and should get the ascendency eventually.

Tigers vs. Red Sox, 7:10PM ET

Detroit is officially streaking. They ended their weekend series with the Rangers with two consecutive wins to give them some confidence heading into their visit to Boston. The Tigers appeared to figure some things out on offense on Saturday and Sunday with 21 combined runs, but they will face a tougher test against a top-10 ranked defense in the Red Sox. Josh Winckowski (1-1, 4.50 ERA) will start on the mound for the Sox for the third time this season, looking to build off a last start W, giving up just 4 hits and 0 runs against the Athletics. While Detroit were able to put up a score against the Rangers, we're expecting things to be a little more subdued here tonight with the 9.5-run total looking a little too high for our liking.

Royals vs. Angels, 9:38PM ET

The Angels head back home for 3-game series against the Royals and an instant opportunity to try and extend their winning streak to 4. Mike Trout was in rare form against the Mariners over the weekend, slugging 5 homers. His eyes will light up at the prospect of facing starting Kansas City pitcher Kris Bubic (0-4, 8.36 ERA) - a man who has been giving up runs for fun this season. Trout is batting at a very, very healthy .358 average against leftie pitchers this season. Look for the marquee man to dominate and for LA to keep it rolling.
