Free MLB Picks for Monday June 13, 2022

Padres vs. Cubs, 8:05PM ET

It will be a homecoming of sorts for Yu Darvish, back at Wrigley Field to pitch against the team who traded him away to the Padres. Darvish's form has been decent this season with a 5-3 record to go along with a 3.61 ERA. He'll come up against the luckless leftie, Justin Steele, who has just a 1-5 record through 10 starts in 2022. San Diego have been better at reading left-handed pitching this season and should combine that with their general superiority overall to come out with the W tonight.

Reds vs. Diamondbacks, 9:40PM ET

Arizona will be looking to replicate the success they had against Reds pitcher Mitch Minor last week when they clubbed him for 3 runs in 4 innings on their way to a 7-0 win in Cincinnati. On the mound in that game also was Merrill Kelly, who was able to shut out the Reds in 6 innings, giving up just 1 hit in total. With the DBacks in some hot hitting form off the back off putting 13 on the Phillies yesterday, they'll be in a good spot to keep the momentum rolling.

Twins vs. Mariners, 10:10PM ET

Seattle continue their home stand after a weekend series loss to the Red Sox, but there will be little chance of respite coming up against the leaders of the AL Central. Minnesota's 6-game lead atop of the division is comfortable but they really can't afford any let ups, especially against teams like the Mariners when they're putting out pitching like Chris Flexen (2-7, 4.36 ERA). Flexen has given up runs in every single one of his starts this year so we know the Twins will have the ability to create a lead - they'll just need to rely on their defense to hold. They're good enough.
