Cognizant Classic Matchups Parlay: Our Best Head to Head Picks and Predictions

Cognizant Classic Matchups Parlay: Our Best Head to Head Picks and Predictions

The Cognizant Classic at The Palm Beaches tees off bright and early on Thursday, February 28. It' not as weak of a field as last week, but many of the big names on the PGA TOUR are taking another week off.

Betting on winners and who will finish in the Top 5, 10 and 20 markets gets all the attention around golf tournaments, but betting on head-to-head matchups can be an equally lucrative and entertaining experience for golf bettors. For our model's best picks in those markets, read our Cognizant Classic Best Bets.

We have an in-house tool designed for pitting golfers against one another and simulating the results. We can see who will finish higher in their head-to-head matchup, either after Round 1 or over the course of the entire tournament. With a handy "Fair Odds" to "Percentages" toggle, you can always check to see if there's value in any given matchup.

By combining this parlay with the top-tier promos we highlight in our Best Sportsbooks section, bettors can walk away with major profit and hundreds in bonuses from the Cognizant Classic, like up to the $1,000 in bet matches that Fanatics Sportsbook is dishing out right now.

Our Round 1 Head-to-Head Matchup Winners at the Cognizant Classic

To make this parlay, we'll be using the Head-to-Head matchups available at DraftKings as they have the most options available. We'll enter both golfers into our H2H Predictor, select the Tournament-long option, and see which golfer gets the advantage for the weekend.

Leg 1: J.T. Poston to beat Byeong Hun An

It shouldn't surprise you that one of our best outright winner bets is our first leg to win his Round 1 matchup. Poston gets a 48.1% probability to outlast Byeong Hun An in Round 1 at the Cognizant Classic. With the South Korean getting just a 39.1% probability to win the matchup, he's massively overpriced at his minus odds.

Leg 2: Stephan Jaeger to beat Keith Mitchell

If you were making this bet solo, then we wouldn't recommend it at it's current odds, as we say Jaeger should be closer to +120. However, he is technically the underdog in this matchup with Mitchell who's at -120, which is incorrect according to our model which gives the German the stronger chance to win Round 1 at 45.7%.

The Power is Yours:  Build Your Head-to-Head Parlays

Leg 3: Denny McCarthy to beat Tom Hoge

The book calls this one a toss-up and while we have it close, we do give an edge to Denny McCarthy. Hoge has beaten McCarthy in three events H2H this year, but he's also struggled to open his tournament at par or better, with a Round 1 70 or worse in four events so far.

McCarthy has fared a little better on Day 1, going under 70 in three of his five events in 2024. He gets a 2.5% advantage over Hoge this weekend per our model.

Leg 4: Eric Cole to beat Matt Fitzpatrick

Our model loves Eric Cole to compete most weeks and this tournament is no exception. He's beaten the Englishman head-to-head on Day 1 in three of their five shared events this year and is the rightful favorite with a 3.5% advantage according to our tournament simulations.

Leg 5: Luke List to beat Rasmus Hojgaard

We'll end with the biggest advantage of them all. Luke list gets a massive 30% advantage to beat Rasmus Hojgaard in Round 1, with Hojgaard getting -105 odds when we say he should be heavy plus money at more than +200.

List is hot off a T2 at the Genesis Invitational two weeks ago and will look to start off strong once again, while Hojgaard is making his first PGA TOUR appearance of the season.

Dimers' Expert Golf Picks and Predictions

As well as being your best source for PGA golf predictions, Dimers also has the latest golf news, golf predictionsfor every game, weekly golf rankings, and golf matchup H2H tool.

Can I bet on golf with Dimers?

No. There’s no golf bet slip on our site because we don’t take any golf bets ourselves. We’re the friend who gives you the best golf picks and predictions then tells you where and how to get the best golf sign up offers at the sportsbooks, so you can throw your golf bets down. That’s it!

When you click on one of our buttons or links in our golf content, you’re whisked away to DraftKings, BetMGM, FanDuel, or one of the many other sportsbooks we work with.

Once you get there, you can join up to score a welcome bonus (up to $200!), and then get those golf bets down for yourself, but you’re betting on the golf with them, not us. Since you are never betting anything directly with us, we don’t have access to your personal information or sensitive financial info like credit card numbers.

It also means that despite our best efforts to confirm that a sports betting site still has that awesome golf sign up offer available, the best ones often disappear just as quickly as they appeared. We always take these offers down once we know they’re no longer available. We take our responsibility to provide up to date golf information very seriously.

Finally, Responsible Gambling is extremely important to us, so please remember that golf betting should be seen as a form of entertainment - adding to your enjoyment while watching from the course of the couch - not a side hustle or second income stream.

If Dimers doesn't take golf bets, then how do you make money?

Whenever you join a sportsbook mentioned in our golf picks and predictions across the website, or use one of our promo codes, we get a small commission for referring you. Don’t worry, though, this doesn’t affect you in any way at all. That’s a fee the sportsbook pays us as a thank-you for sending another golf bettor their way.

We’re always happy to help our readers troubleshoot any problems. Start with our About Us or Contact Us and if that doesn’t work for you, then you can always send us an email at contact@dimers.com. We’ll do our best to help you figure it out.

  • We do not collect sportsbook sign up or credit card information.
  • We get a commission if you join a sportsbook through our golf content, buttons or links.
  • We’re always happy to help you troubleshoot any issues. Just ask!

Remember to please gamble responsibly. If you sense that you're taking your luck too far, know when to call it quits and don't be afraid to seek assistance. Keep in mind that gambling is all about having a fantastic experience! If you or someone you know is grappling with gambling issues, reach out to 1-800-GAMBLER for crisis counseling and support.
