Cincinnati Bengals 2022 Win Total Prediction, Computer Picks and Super Bowl Odds

The 2022 NFL season is firmly on the horizon and over the coming weeks the Dimers crew will break down the chances of each and every team, all vying for Super Bowl 57 glory in Glendale, Arizona come February.

Let's take a look at the key factors to consider when betting on the Bengals in 2022.

The Cincinnati Bengals' spectacular run to the Super Bowl last year puts Cincinnati in the unfamiliar territory of receiving preseason hype going into the fall. With one of the NFL's best passing attacks led by QB Joe Burrow and a completely rehauled offensive line, there is a lot to like about the Bengals coming off their first trip to the Super Bowl since 1989.

Cincinnati Bengals 2022 Win Total - 9.5

Getting reinforcements on the offensive line through free agency is a big deal for Cincinnati, as the front office has shown it is all in on protecting the franchise quarterback with the addition of three solid veteran pieces.

Changes clearly had to be made after allowing nine sacks to the Tennessee Titans in last year’s divisional round of the playoffs and having the Rams defensive line take over late in Super Bowl LVI.

We all know about the offense, but last year’s run would not have happened without the late-season surge from Lou Anarumo’s defense. Though the side lacks the star power that the offense has, some inspired play from the front seven helped push the Bengals to the top of the AFC.

The big question is if that will be repeatable for a season-long stretch without major defensive signings and lingering questions in the secondary. Even with a brutal stretch of games in the second half of the season, the offense should be dynamic enough to get it over the nine-win mark for a second straight year.

DimersBOT: In our model's 10,000 simulations of the upcoming NFL season, the Bengals averaged 9.72 wins per year. With that in mind, we're leaning towards the Over here and we like Cincinnati as a long-term play.

Cincinnati Bengals X-Factor - Logan Wilson, LB

Wilson found himself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons at the end of Super Bowl LVI, earning a controversial holding call on Cooper Kupp despite what looked to be good coverage.

The questionable call shouldn’t overshadow the dramatic jump in production he had a year ago in his breakout campaign, leading the team in both tackles and interceptions.

Still, it feels like Wilson is flying under the radar nationally. He could establish himself as one of the league’s better young linebackers this year as he’ll look to lead the Bengals front seven and solidify the run defense and help in the intermediary passing game.

Cincinnati Bengals Super Bowl 57 Chances

The Super Bowl runners-up are not getting as much love as one might expect from the sportsbooks. Talent concerns on the defense and a second-half stretch that includes Buffalo, Kansas City and Tampa Bay could potentially doom Cincinnati’s hopes to get back to the Super Bowl.

But one of the best predictors of success in the NFL is passing game efficiency and there are not many in the league who have a more explosive air attack than the Bengals. Burrow is a legitimate star and he now should have more time to get the ball to his playmakers.

DimersBOT: We have the Bengals with a 4.0% chance of winning it all, which is good for eighth in the league. At these odds, there is definitely value here.
