College Football Best Bets: Picks & Analysis For Baylor vs. Air Force In The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl On Thursday, December 22

The Air Force Falcons will be looking to win their 10th game of the year when the team faces the Baylor Bears in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl at 7:30PM ET on Thursday, December 22. This game will be played at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas, so the Bears should have a lot more fans in attendance for this one. However, Baylor was just 6-6 and had a down year, so the team might not be as amped up as an Air Force team that is looking to build on one of the better years in program history. Our college football picks were very profitable for us during the regular season and we're confident we can continue providing winners the rest of the way.

College Football Best Bet For The Thursday, December 22 Bowl Game
Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl: Baylor Bears vs. Air Force Falcons - 7:30PM ET
Our DimersBOT gives the Falcons a 55% shot at covering the spread, with our predicted score in this one having Air Force losing by only a point. And despite the fact that Baylor has a massive advantage playing in Texas, we do think that Air Force will find a way to either make this a one-score game or just win outright.
While the Bears definitely want to win this game and finish their season on a positive note, it's definitely a little hard to get up for a bowl game after a very disappointing year — and playing a triple-option school probably doesn't help that. The Falcons, however, will be stoked to be playing a program as big as this one, so the Air Force players should be full of adrenaline when they get out there. That will help the Falcons on the defensive side of the ball, where they already had the third-best scoring defense in the nation (13.3 points per game allowed).
Look for Baylor to have a difficult time scoring in this one, and don't be surprised if Air Force's ability to run wears out Dave Aranda's defenders eventually. Brad Roberts is an absolute stud at the running back position, as he rushed for 1,612 yards with 15 touchdowns this year. Eventually he'll make an impact on this game offensively, and that should be enough for the Falcons to cover here.
Also, since Troy Calhoun became the head coach of Air Force, the Falcons are 6-5 straight-up and 7-4 against the spread in bowl games. They're also 9-5 ATS in the month of December in that time, and they happen to be facing a Bears team that is just 1-2 ATS as a favorite of 3.5 to 10 points since Aranda became head coach.
