College Basketball Best Bets for Tuesday, November 15
Northwestern Wildcats vs. Georgetown Hoyas - 6:30PM ET
The Hoyas are already off to a 2-0 start to the 2022-23 season, but they'll now be even more energized by the addition of Jay Heath. Heath recently had his transfer waiver approved and is available to make his Georgetown debut tonight. The junior averaged 10.6 points per game for Arizona State last season and 14.5 points per game for Boston College the year before that. He's a versatile guard that can really shoot the basketball and has a history of producing against high-level competition. That is something Georgetown can really use.
Patrick Ewing's team was already the better offensive team between these two before Heath became available, as the Hoyas are 61st in the nation in KenPom's adjusted offensive efficiency rankings while the Wildcats are just 103rd in the country. Northwestern is the better defensive team between the two, but this is a home game for the Hoyas. That means they'll play with more passion on the defensive end, which should help make up that difference. That'll allow their offense to shine in this one.
Keep an eye on Primo Spears here. The sophomore is averaging 24.5 points per game through two games and he is an exciting player to watch.

Montana State Bobcats vs. Oregon Ducks - 9:00PM ET
The Bobcats haven't defeated a Pac-12 opponent since 2011, so the motivation will be there tonight. And while we don't necessarily think Montana State will win this game outright, we do see Oregon having some trouble putting this basketball team away.
Montana State is only 1-1 to start the season, but that loss came against Grand Canyon. That's a very underrated program, meaning there's no shame in the Bobcats having a loss on their resume. However, Oregon's loss to UC Irvine is borderline unacceptable.
Overall, the Ducks have quite a few trends working against them. Since the start of last season, Oregon is 6-19 against the spread after having played a game as a favorite. The Ducks have actually lost those games by an average of 2.6 points per game. Dana Altman's team is also just 4-14 against the spread when coming off a home game in that time, so perhaps the Ducks have trouble being settled in Eugene for a few days.
It's just hard to count on Oregon winning this game by double digits. Montana State is 2-0 ATS and looking to become a favorite amongst bettors.

San Diego State Aztecs vs. Stanford Cardinal - 9:00PM ET
San Diego State is coming off a meeting with BYU in which the Aztecs earned an 82-75 victory. That game was an absolute shootout and they now take on a Cardinal team that also has the ability to put the ball in the hoop. Stanford's 60-50 loss to Wisconsin on Friday might suggest otherwise, but the Cardinal put up 88 points in a win over Pacific in their season opener. They are quite deep with guys that can score the basketball, and they have some shooters that will make the Aztecs pay for any poor rotations.
The Over has now hit in both of San Diego State's games this season, with the Aztecs having also combined to score 137 points in their meeting with Cal State Fullerton. And it should also be noted that the Over is 14-5 in Stanford home games with totals between 135 and 139.5 under Jerod Haase. The average total points scored in those games is 144.3 points per game. That shows that the oddsmakers tend to be on point when predicting that Stanford games will be shootouts.
