Bettor Wins $50,000 With a Live Bet on Justin Thomas at 2022 PGA Championship

Justin Thomas came from the clouds on Sunday to win his second career major, taking out Will Zalatoris in a 3-hole playoff at the 2022 PGA Championship.

As well as Thomas himself, a host of bettors around the United States had a nice win, with most books offering odds of around +1700 on Thomas to win heading into the opening day of play.

But heading into Sunday, Thomas' odds had blown out to +3300 with some books and got as high as +25000 with PointsBet Sportsbook when he was on the 10th hole. One sharp bettor in particular made the most of this, betting $200 to win a massive $50,000.

With the leaders on the 6th hole and Thomas on the 10th, the eventual winner was five shots behind, but once Mito Pereira shanked his drive on the 72nd hole into the water, it was a two-horse race between Thomas and Zalatoris.

The two young stars then duked it out over three holes in a playoff that took their aggregate score to determine the champ.
