While his numbers haven't been as great as previous years, Cole's mere presence is still enough to send shockwaves through an Angels offense that has been way, way down in production over their last five games. During that stretch, LA have averaged just 2.36 runs per game, compared with their usual season mark of 4.66. There is an element of the unknown about Cole coming back from COVID, but this is as good a spot as any for him to hit the ground running.

Both teams are scoring for fun right now, averaging 6.09 and 5.69 runs per game each over their last ten outings. With two pitchers in Braxton Garrett (ERA 4.65) and Touki Toussaint (4.28) taking the mound, we shouldn't have to wait too long before someone starts doing the business against the opposition defense.

Mets vs. Giants

After a brutal weekend, life gets tougher for the Mets who have to travel all the way across the country to take on the league-best Giants in San Francisco this week.
The Mets were weary of protecting their bullpen in last night's game against the Dodgers at Citi Field, sending two position players to the mound in the closing innings as New York were humbled 14-4. The late finish of the game will only make things worse for that long flight to The Bay where the Giants will be waiting after their weekend homestand against Colorado. Kevin Gausman will be pitching for SF; by far their best starting pitcher available. Not a great spot to be in for the Mets, but for us, the Giants run line at plus money is impossible to pass up.
