Braves vs. Phillies

Atlanta have won two of the three games this series so far, but go into this one as underdogs with Aaron Nola taking the mound for the Phillies. We don't think it'll be enough for Philly, though, and we're taking the Braves with the added insurance of the run line at nice odds.

A simple look at starting Cards' pitcher, Johan Oviedo's numbers will tell you that the man is having a season to forget. A 0-5 win/loss starting record, a 4.81 ERA and 8.69 hits given per nine innings pitched. It's not exactly compelling evidence to bet St Louis, but our data modelling thinks today might be the day that Johan adds a win to his column. The Reds will be starting Sonny Gray, whose stats haven't been much better. Stranger things have happened.

Tigers vs. Royals

Detroit and Kansas City continue their weekend series, but after two wins, the Royals may be tempting fate by putting in inexperienced starter in the gun on Sunday.
Daniel Lynch will be featuring for the Royals for the first time since May where he started against Detroit in a 4-3 loss. The Royals pitcher has an unenviable ERA of 15.75 heading into this one. Admittedly it is a small sample size, but it's an indication that the Tigers have a chance to strike.
