The Cardinals are rolling and will start as heavy moneyline favorites today with Adam Wainwright (10-9, 3.21 ERA) on the mound against the Nationals' Josiah Gray (7-9, 4.91 ERA). The Nats have been a plucky opponent for better teams at times and aren't always the easy beats that their 48-89 record suggests, but given the recent form of Gray, who has given up multiple-run starts in 5 of his last 6 outings, it's hard to see another upset today. This is simply a case of one of the league's best offenses in St. Louis (ranked 3rd in the MLB for runs scored per game) against one of the worst defenses (Washington rank 29th in the MLB for opponent runs allowed per game).

Reds vs. Cubs, 2:20PM ET

The runs have been plentiful in Chicago so far this week between the Reds and Cubs with 12 and 8 runs in the two games of their midweek series so far. When offenses go toe-to-toe with each other it's always exciting, and the pair of ball clubs are well positioned for another slugfest with two starting pitchers who are giving up runs at a steady pace at the moment. Adrian Sampson (1-5, 3.95 ERA) of the Cubs and Luis Cessa (3-2, 5.18 ERA) of the Reds have ERA's of 6.17 and 4.09 over their last 3 starts respectively, to go along with a heavy average of hits given up. Both hitting lineups will get ample opportunity to get on base today - they just need to convert.

Giants vs. Brewers, 4:10PM ET

The Brewers have had a disappointing couple of days with back-to-back losses against the Rockies putting a dent in their momentum. They'll have a chance to get things back on track against this underwhelming Giants side who themselves are entering this game in the midst of a 2-game skid after ending two losses to the Dodgers in LA. San Francisco will be looking to the bullpen for this game with reliever Scott Alexander getting the start. The Giants bullpen this season has been in the bottom third of the league for almost every pitching metric and Milwaukee should be looking at this game as a freebie.
