One thing we can be sure of heading into this game is that both team's fans are not confident and they are petrified of the consequences should they lose to their biggest rival. Both sets of ball clubs are in weird spots at the moment, neither really displaying the type of form that could make a bettor confident of what will happen and who will advance.

Normally with Gerrit Cole starting on the mound, you could say that the Yankees have the upper edge from the start in the pitching stakes - but not even that statement is entirely accurate given that Cole has given up 15 runs over his last three starts. Boston's form has been shaky, having to rally over the weekend to lock themselves a spot in the postseason. For those reasons, we're staying away from any moneyline bets or spreads and focusing on the total.

As mentioned, Cole looks a little out of sorts over his last three outings. While Nathan Eovaldi has been a little better on the opposite end for Boston, it's the Sox bullpen which will really see this bet cash. They've been leaky as of late and could open the door to New York late in the game to take full advantage. Our projections has the Over down with a high probability.

BEST PROP: Anthony Rizzo to hit a home run with Caesars (+410)

Rizzo likes Nathan Eovaldi a lot, a lot, a lot. The Yankees slugger has a .556 avg against the Red Sox pitcher, with five hits from nine at-bats, only striking out once. This is a great spot for the former Cub to bang one in against one of his favorite throwers.
