Predictive Analytics Model's Picks To Win 2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship

The event begins on Thursday, August 11th, 2022 and will run until Sunday, August 14th.

Here, we look at some of the best bets ahead of this week's PGA event.

2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship Best Bets to Win

After hitting on Finau at both the 3M Open and Rocket Mortgage Classic, our model is looking for three winners in four weeks and has identified edges near the top of the odds board, with McIlroy, Schauffele and Finau having the best chances to win this week.

Even with them all being amongst the favorites to win this event, the DimersBOT still sees them as being undervalued by the oddsmakers. With Dimers Golf Rankings of first, third and fourth, our top three picks are threats to win every week, but they're even better fits on this golf course. And being that you can get McIlroy to win at +1000, Schauffele at +2000 and Finau to win at +2200, it's hard not to jump on this.

McIlroy and Schauffele are both amongst the Top 5 in total strokes gained this year. McIlroy is actually first in that category, which is part of the reason he has won two tournaments this season — the RBC Canadian Open and THE CJ CUP @ Summit. This could be McIlroy's statement victory, as he's eager to show that he can still win the big ones. Schauffele, meanwhile, is looking for his fourth win of the season. He has already won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the Travelers Championship and the Genesis Scottish Open. But this would easily be his biggest yet.

Finau needs less of an explanation than the previous two players. He comes into this tournament after having won in each of the last two events he has played, so nobody on the planet is playing better golf right now. Finau has also been one of the most talented players on tour for a long time, but he seems to have recently gotten a real feel for how to close out tournaments. He's more dangerous than ever now and he won this event in 2021. Also, the only thing finding the water with Finau these days is his wife's phone:

As we've suggested the past two weeks, the smart play here is to take all three of our top picks, with McIlroy being the one that DimersBOT has as the best bet of the week

2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship Value Picks To Win

The DimersBOT doesn't have any must-bet value plays in this event, but you can do a lot worse than throwing a little something on guys like Max Homa and Billy Horschel.

While our model gives stars like Thomas and Rahm just about 3.0% chances of winning, Homa and Horschel aren't too far behind and offer much better payouts. And it's not like these guys are slouches either. Homa won the Fortinet Championship and Wells Fargo Championship this season. Meanwhile, Horschel won the Memorial Tournament back in June. The two have also earned plenty of other victories on tour, but they're real factors here.

Horschel is particularly interesting at his +4200 odds, as he has played well at this golf course in the past. He has four Top 25 finishes here in his career and one of those was an event in which he tied for fourth. At his price tag, it's really hard to beat that.

It wouldn't be that surprising if anybody won in a field this loaded, but these two genuinely have what it takes to do so.

2022 FedEx St. Jude Championship Dark Horse Picks

If you're looking for a complete dark horse to win this tournament, perhaps you should take a shot on Corey Conners at +6600. Conners has been knocking on the door for quite some time and is one of the best ball-strikers on the planet.

Our model gives him a 1.5% chance of winning this event, but he's as good as anybody when he is on his game. It's only a matter of time before he wins an event just like this one, so we're looking to be early to the party.

Remember, you can bet Conners or anyone else this week with a $20 free bet at BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️.
