Phillies vs. Pirates, 7:05PM ET

The Phils bounced back in the perfect way possible after a dismal sweep at the hands of the Cubs this past weekend by winning their midweek series over the reigning world champions in the Braves. Philadelphia got back to utilizing their potent offense to score runs, and with a new series on deck this weekend against Pittsburgh, they'll get the chance to keep it rolling against Zach Thompson (3-7, 4.64 ERA), a man who gave up 7 ER in his last start the generally low scoring Marlins. We've got the Phillies making light work of it here.

Guardians vs. Red Sox, 7:10PM ET

The Red Sox continue to slump, dropping their second successive game to the Guardians last night after Josh Naylor's late innings heroics captured 7-6 win to give them 50 wins on the year. The Guards are well placed to make it 51 tonight with an edge in the pitching matchup. Triston McKenzie (7-6, 3.11 ERA) has been immense for Cleveland over the past month, giving up just one run from his last four starts combined. If he can keep that up, we know the Guardians can pile on the runs when given the chance. Cleveland to take this out.

Mariners vs. Astros, 8:10PM ET

The Astros are coming off an embarrassing sweep at the hands of the Athletics over the last three days but will find solace in the fact that they are hosting the Mariners in Houston this weekend, a team that they themselves swept last weekend. These ball clubs are two of the best defensive units in the league this season and despite the Astros' 3-game sweep, two of those were low scoring, tight encounters. With José Urquidy (9-4, 3.93 ERA) and Logan Gilbert (10-4, 2.77 ERA) getting things started on the mound, don't expect to see that form line change too much.
