Here's the Alberta betting sites live on launch day
The first 23 Alberta betting sites are now live, with brands including DraftKings, bet365 and BetMGM accepting players.

Alberta's regulated online gambling market has officially launched, giving players access to 23 legal Alberta betting sites for the first time.
The launch includes many of the biggest names in online gambling, including DraftKings, bet365, BetMGM and Caesars. However, while regulators approved dozens of operators ahead of launch, fewer than half are currently accepting customers.
According to the Alberta iGaming Corporation, 22 private operators are now live alongside the government-run Play Alberta platform, bringing the total number of regulated Alberta betting sites to 23.

Why aren't all Alberta betting sites live?
While more than 50 brands received approval to enter Alberta's regulated market, many operators have chosen not to launch on day one.
Some companies are still completing technical integrations, while others appear to be staggering their launches rather than competing immediately when the market opened on July 13.
Where is Betway?
One notable omission is Betway.
Super Group had previously received approval for five Alberta brands through its Cadtree subsidiary, but Betway no longer appears on the Alberta iGaming Corporation's approved operators list.
It is the second Super Group-owned brand to disappear from the approvals list after Grizzly's Quest was removed in June.
More Alberta betting sites expected soon
With 31 approved brands still waiting to launch, Alberta's regulated online gambling market is expected to expand rapidly over the coming weeks.
As more Alberta betting sites go live, players will gain access to an even broader range of sportsbooks, online casinos and betting apps, making Alberta one of Canada's most competitive regulated gambling markets alongside Ontario.
