NHL Best Bets: Sabres vs. Flyers

PICK: Sabres Team Total Over 3.5 (-103)

The Buffalo Sabres conclude their three game road trip as they visit the Philadelphia Flyers tonight at Wells Fargo Center.

Buffalo suffered a heartbreaker on Wednesday night as they were defeated by the Washington Capital 5-4, in a shootout.

The Sabres blew a 3-1 third period lead to lose the all important extra point. The loss put them six points behind the New York Islanders for the final Eastern Conference Wild Card spot.

Buffalo is in must win mode for the rest of the season, but I don't trust their defense/goaltending. Their offense, however, has been a powerhouse this season. The Sabres average 3.6 goals per game this season, which is third best in the league.

On the road, they average 3.7 goals per game. Alex Tuch returned from injury this week and since his return the Sabres have scored eight goals in two games.

The Philadelphia Flyers have struggled to keep the puck out of their net lately. Phlly has allowed at least five goals in three of their last four games.

Their lottery odds have drastically increased over the past week as well. Philly plays a tough style and they are usually in every game, but they just don't have the talent to keep up with the better teams in the league.

I think Buffalo's offense will prove to be too much for the Flyers to handle so I'll back the Sabres Team Total Over 3.5 at a short price.

So bet Sabres Team Total Over 3.5 (-103) at BetMGM.
