Chicago Bears 2022 Win Total Prediction, Computer Picks and Super Bowl Odds

The 2022 NFL season is firmly on the horizon and over the coming weeks the Dimers crew will break down the chances of each and every team, all vying for Super Bowl 57 glory in Glendale, Arizona come February.

Let's take a look at the key factors to consider when betting on the Chicago Bears in 2022.

With a new head coach, the Chicago Bears will continue to try to build around second-year NFL quarterback Justin Fields. What are their chances in a muddled NFC North in 2022?

Chicago Bears Win Total Prediction, Computer Picks and Super Bowl Odds

Chicago Bears

  • 2021 Record: 6-11, 3rd in NFC North, missed playoffs
  • 2021 ATS:  6-11
  • Key off-season losses: Allen Robinson WR, Khalil Mack LB
  • Key off-season addition: Kyler Gordon CB

Chicago Bears 2022 Win Total - 6.5

The Chicago Bears have a new regime in place this season. Justin Fields only threw for 1,870 yards and seven touchdowns last season and the Bears’ passing game isn’t likely to get a lot better this season with a depleted wide receiver room.

Darnell Mooney is their best receiver returning, catching 1,055 yards and four touchdowns last season.

Mooney is not ready to be an elite No. 1 wide receiver and Chicago has no threat on the outside. Allen Robinson, who is now on the Los Angeles Rams, only had 410 yards receiving and one touchdown last season. He was the closest thing the Bears had to an outside presence. And it's hard to imagine new head coach Matt Eberflus changing too much given the shortcomings on this roster.

The defensive production will miss Khalil Mack’s six-sack production and the attention he got from double- and triple-teams.

DimersBOT: In our model's 10,000 simulations of the upcoming NFL season, the Bears averaged 6.62 wins per year. With that said, you could take the Over if you're feeling somewhat bold, but there's a chance Chicago is a bit worse than the computer things. A lot of players on the Bears roster are not happy — linebacker Roquan Smith has demanded a trade — which generally results in a lousy on-field product.

Chicago Bears X-Factor - Offensive Line Play

In order for Justin Fields to make a big jump from year one to year two, the offensive line is going to have to be able to protect him. The Chicago O-Line surrendered 58 sacks in 2021, the most of any team in the NFL.

If Fields doesn’t make the jump to the next level, will it be the fault of a sub-par receiving corps, or an O-Line that just can’t get it done?

Chicago Bears Super Bowl 57 Chances

The Chicago Bears have not been to a Super Bowl since 2006 and have not won one since 1985. Chicago is starving for success in the Windy City, but don’t expect anything to change this season with a mediocre football team.

The Bears can’t seem to get out of their own way right now and nothing will change.

DimersBOT: Our model is as low as can be on the Bears, so we wouldn't advise putting anything on Chicago right now. The Bears have a lot of work to do before contending again.
