While the NBA's awards season is still months away, one bettor is already popping the champagne as he holds onto a parlay that is on the cusp of a windfall of close to $35,000 - as long as the Orlando Magic's Paolo Banchero can stay healthy.

Three-Leg Parlay Close to Cashing $35,000
The bettor from Oceanport, New Jersey, who posted his ticket this week to social media platform Instagram under the handle 4deepbets, placed his wager with FanDuel Sportsbook using a $100 free bet credit and correctly picked the winners of the 2022 World Series, the Houston Astros, as well as the Kansas City Chiefs to triumph in the Super Bowl - an achievement they would come good on when they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 last Sunday.
That just leaves one more leg: Paolo Banchero to win this year's Rookie of the Year award. The No. 1 draft pick from the 2022 NBA Draft opened the betting a +410 favorite with FanDuel Sportsbook, and he's fulfilled his potential, putting together a strong first year of professional basketball with averages of 19.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. His dominant form has seen his current odds shorten to -1000; essentially a lock to take out this year's award and cash the monster parlay that would return $37,707.50.
While the Magic forward is all but a certainty to take home the award - providing no significant injuries lead to any extended time on the sidelines - it's going to be a long wait for the bettor to cash his ticket, with the Rookie of the Year not due to be announced by the NBA until late April.
