I would say that Golden Dragon is one of the worst social casinos that I have ever seen. So join me to see just how bad things get at this nightmare of an online gaming site.
The only good thing about Golden Dragon is its logo and everything else is completely dire. So I’m going to shine a spotlight on all of the horrors I found at this site and compare them with what you get at some decent sweeps casinos like SpeedSweeps and LoneStar Casino.
So once I’d got the URL for Golden Dragon, I loaded up the site which had a golden dragon motif and this kind of blinked and then a progress bar slowly loaded up. Once this was done, I was faced with a page where I had to enter in my Mobile ID and password.
I obviously didn’t have an ID or a password as I had never played here before. This meant that my Golden Dragon review came to a shuddering halt as I couldn't actually get any further.
However, I didn’t give up, so I spent one terrible afternoon of my life piecing together the following facts about what Golden Dragon is, and why you should avoid it at all costs.
So it seems that Golden Dragon is primarily a slot gaming site that focuses on games that have dragons that are a kind of golden color. I’m not saying that there is just one game here, just that there is precious little else to enjoy.
All of this is a major contrast with what you can get at some decent sweepstakes casinos. For example, you just have to go somewhere like SweepNext and play over 1,700 casino games. These aren’t dodgy in-house games either, but they are all titles from trusted games developers such as Octoplay, Novomatic and Platipus.
Plus it’s worth noting that these games cover more than just slots as you can play everything from table games like roulette to some of those instant-win games such as Crash. Plus with some immersive live dealer games, brands like SweepNext show you just what’s possible at sweeps gaming sites.
It’s worth noting that all of my recommended sweeps casinos like Moonspin will let you play all of their slots and table games without having to download any software. Not only does this give you a faster way to get into the gaming action, it also is good for anyone who’s worrying about what it is that they are downloading. So the fact that Golden Dragon tries to get you to download its software to play its games is hardly a good look.
The fact that I couldn’t get past the login page at Golden Dragon means that I cannot actually tell you anything about the brand’s bonuses. This isn’t a bad thing as they are probably all deceptive deals that promise the world but end up giving you nothing.
Thankfully, you don’t have to go hunting for bonuses at Golden Dragon as each of my favorite sweeps casinos will ensure that you can keep playing via a range of generous deals.
For example, you can sign up somewhere like LoneStar Casino and get a welcome offer that starts you off with 500,000 Gold Coins, 105 Sweeps Coins and 1,000 VIP Points.
From here you can use those VIP Points to climb up the loyalty ladders of the rewards program, and it’s worth noting that this brand even has a massive daily login bonus that’ll give you 100,000 Gold Coins and two Sweeps Coins every 24 hours. Definitely something that Golden Dragon would struggle to match.
I learned enough about Golden Dragon to understand that it isn’t a regular online casino where you play with your own money, but that it is some kind of social casino where you are meant to play with a kind of virtual currency called Coins. It’s not totally clear what these Coins are, what you can do with them, or even where you get them.
Again, this is the polar opposite of what you get at legit sweeps casinos where you are always given clear terms regarding how their virtual currencies work.
Let’s take the example of Vegas Coins where you can play with Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins. Vegas Coins makes it clear that Gold Coins can only be used to play for fun, whereas Sweeps Coins can be used to play in a sweepstakes mode. The cool thing here is that Sweeps Coins can only be claimed with no purchase necessary and if you win back enough Sweeps Coins you can redeem them for cash prizes. It’s hard to imagine Golden Dragon doing anything like this.
As well as having terrible games, non-existent bonuses and a disaster of a website, Golden Dragon also fails to get the basics right in terms of your online security and here is why:
Golden Dragon makes no reference to any kinds of gaming laws in the US. There is nothing in the way of a minimum age requirement and it doesn’t say what states it can operate in either. This is a far cry from the likes of SpeedSweeps where you know that you have to be at least 18 years old and playing from anywhere in the US except for Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Washington, Delaware, Hawaii, Connecticut and Nevada.
The fact that I couldn’t actually login at Golden Dragon doesn’t exactly inspire much hope for the safety of this site. As such, you might want to play somewhere else if you value the security of your personal data and payments. The good news is that each of my recommended sweeps casinos has SSL encryption technologies.
Golden Dragon clearly doesn’t care about the safety of its customers as there is nothing in the way of responsible gaming tools. Again, this can be contrasted by what you find at most legit sweeps casinos as these brands will let you apply limits to your Gold Coins purchases and even take a time-out or completely exclude yourself from the site.
I should also note the fact that I had no way of getting in touch with the Golden Dragon customer service team. I even sent the brand a message on their Facebook book but got nothing in the way of a reply.
It doesn’t matter whether you are into slot games, table games or even fish table games as Golden Dragon will let you down on all fronts. This is because the brand has created a website that is almost impossible to use, and therefore I have no idea what kinds of games and bonuses are available. To be honest, they are probably terrible like everything else about the brand.
All of this gives me more than enough reason to suggest avoiding Golden Dragon at all costs and check out any of my recommended sweeps casinos instead. After all, brands like SweepNext, Moonspin and VegasCoins are all great fun and they won’t rip you off either. So sign up to one of these sweeps casinos and let’s pretend that Golden Dragon never existed.
It doesn’t look like it, and I would probably avoid giving Golden Dragon any of your own cash. This is because it is a dodgy social casino with a terrible reputation for ripping off its customers.
It’s absolutely anybody’s guess. After all, I spent about half an hour trying to register an account at this social casino and failed every time.
It doesn’t look like it, and I would be very cautious about downloading anything from this brand. After all, nothing about Golden Dragon can be trusted and chances are that you’d just be downloading a bunch of malware rather than any gaming software.
No idea! In theory, yes as the brand is meant to be a social casino where you can play without having to spend your own cash. However, in reality I found that things are rarely so straightforward at this rogue online gaming site.
I’d say that they were all equally bad. While I didn’t actually get to play them due to the terrible site design, they all looked like slot games that bore the same awful graphics and gameplay.
