Boom Fantasy is an established Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) app with Pick’em, Pick & Spin, and other interesting game modes. If you’re contemplating using the platform, my extensive Boom Fantasy review is for you.

I spent days testing Boom Fantasy’s DFS features. Not just the different game modes, but also the brand’s usability, withdrawals, promos, support, and other important aspects. From my findings, Boom Fantasy scores highly for the most part. Read on for my full ratings of the DFS app to know if it’s worth installing.

Getting Started with Boom Fantasy

To play DFS on Boom Fantasy, you have to install the iOS or Android mobile app. I tried signing up on the website, but there’s no such option. If you visit the site, you’ll be redirected to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download.

After installing, I created my Boom Fantasy account in under two minutes. I counted 10 sports for DFS when I logged in, including:

  1. Football: NFL, CFB
  2. Baseball: MLB
  3. Soccer: EPL, La Liga, UCL, and more
  4. Basketball: NBA, CBB, WNBA, NBA/WNBA All-Star
  5. Hockey: NHL
  6. Combat Sports: UFC
  7. Tennis: ATP, ITF, and others
  8. Motorsports: NASCAR
  9. Esports: League of Legends and more
  10. Golf: PGA and others

From the above list, you’ll agree with me that Boom Fantasy has adequate sports coverage.

Is Boom Fantasy Legit?

My answer is yes, as Boom Fantasy appears legit from my analysis. First off, the platform is US-based, as its owner, Boom Shakalaka Inc., has an address in New York.

What convinced me most is that Boom Fantasy launched in 2015. So, the DFS platform has been active for over 10 years, which is impressive.

After creating my account, I had to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification before depositing or making an entry. It shows that Boom Fantasy takes a serious approach to making sure only eligible players can access its platform.

Speaking of eligibility, it depends on the DFS game mode. That said, I confirmed in my Boom Fantasy review that at least one game option is available in these locations:

  1. Alabama
  2. Alaska
  3. Arkansas
  4. California
  5. District of Columbia
  6. Florida
  7. Georgia
  8. Illinois
  9. Kentucky
  10. Massachusetts
  11. Minnesota
  12. Nebraska
  13. New Mexico
  14. North Carolina
  15. North Dakota
  16. Oklahoma
  17. Oregon
  18. Rhode Island
  19. South Carolina
  20. South Dakota
  21. Texas
  22. Utah
  23. Vermont
  24. Virginia
  25. West Virginia
  26. Wisconsin
  27. Wyoming

The list indicates a decent level of accessibility. Before you create a Boom Fantasy account, check the eligible regions, as the platform can update its terms over time. Also, you can only sign up if you’re 19 in Alabama and Nebraska, and 21 in Massachusetts. For all other states, the minimum age is 18.

Multiple Boom Fantasy Game Modes

The default home on the Boom Fantasy app shows Pick’em. However, if you tap More Games on the menu, you’ll also see Pick & Spin, Squad Ride, and Pick’em Royale. Let me explain how each mode works:

Pick’em and Pick’em Royale

In Pick’em, you make over/under predictions on 2-8 players. Each pick has its own multiplier, and combined, you can win with up to a 500x payout.

I checked various sports and confirmed that Boom Fantasy lists all the popular stats you’d expect. For instance, in the NBA, I saw points, rebounds, 3-pointers, and combinations (points + rebounds + assists).

In addition to the regular, Boom Fantasy has Pick’em Royale. With this mode, your entry is placed in a pool with that of a maximum of 5,000 other players. If you emerge among the top 50 players, you’ll receive a share of the pot.

Importantly, you can only play Pick’em Royale in Alabama, California, Massachusetts, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Those are the Boom Fantasy peer-to-peer (P2P) states.

Pick & Spin

If you’ve played Wheel of Fortune games, you’ll find Pick & Spin familiar. It involves spinning a wheel for a random multiplier, up to 500x. In my experience, qualifying entries must have two picks, and you’ll see the odds of each multiplier upfront.

After the first try, you can keep spinning if you don’t like the multiplier. However, you’ll pay a fresh entry fee for each new spin until you reach the maximum.

I tried Pick & Spin multiple times, and the most common multipliers are 2x, 3.5x, and 5x. High ones, such as 500x and 100x, are rare to hit. If you get 500x and lose one of your two picks, you’ll be paid 25x. For 100x, it’s 10x if a pick loses.

Squad Ride

Boom Fantasy’s Squad Ride gives you targets to beat. To play, you create a squad of three players, from at least two teams. Then, the DFS app generates three point-based milestones. The milestones are according to your athletes’ strengths, so it’s always higher for top players.

Here’s an example from what I got:

  • 2x milestone: 70+ points
  • 5x milestone: 80+ points
  • 20x milestone: 90+ points

My squad scored 85 points, so I received 5x my entry fee. The 2x for 70+ points didn’t count because Boom Fantasy only pays out the highest multiplier.

Coverage

You can apply Coverage to eligible DFS entries and win if 1-2 picks lose. If your entry has 3 or 4 picks, you can win if just one is unsuccessful. Meanwhile, for 5+ selections, two losing picks will still fetch a payout. I'm a fan of this feature because it provides some protection.

No Stress Token Welcome Bonus

The Boom Fantasy bonus for new DFS players is a no stress Token of up to $100. Basically, if you apply the token and lose your entry, you’ll receive your money back. However, the refund can’t exceed $100, even if your entry fee was higher.

I received the token after registration, without using a Boom Fantasy promo code. From my tests, it works on different DFS game modes, provided you don’t apply coverage. If you get the refund, you have 14 days to play with it before you can withdraw potential winnings.

A Range of Ongoing Promotions

Boom Fantasy offers several other promos to existing DFS players on its app. What caught my attention the most was the daily offers, from Sunday to Saturday. For example, I got a wheel with up to a 2,000x payout on Super Wheel Sundays and random multiplier boosts on Mystery Mondays.

These daily offers may change, so confirm them in the Promos section when you log in. That said, below are the regular bonuses I found in my Boom Fantasy review:

Usability of the Boom Fantasy App

I didn’t find the DFS app difficult to use at any point in my Boom Fantasy review. The simple yet modern design made sure of that.

On the app, you get a dark theme with neon blue accents, which creates a good contrast. The horizontal sports tab at the top makes switching between leagues a breeze. Below it, there’s a row of the day’s top games followed by a search bar.

Boom Fantasy’s player cards are properly structured. I appreciate how the brand separates the athlete identity, game details, and selectable stats. Also, the up/down (over/under) arrows are large enough for tapping without mistakes. I can’t skip mentioning the fixed bottom menu, which makes selecting game modes, entries, and promos faster.

Easy Deposits and Quick Payouts

Credit/debit cards, PayPal, and Venmo are the deposit payment methods at Boom Fantasy. I always found the funding process easy, thanks to the low $10 minimum deposit and near-instant processing.

Regarding payouts, Boom Fantasy’s minimum withdrawal is still $10. The DFS brand doesn’t have a maximum limit or fees. Based on my experience, payouts are fast, taking less than 30 minutes with debit cards and within 24 hours for PayPal and Venmo. Online banking takes 1 to 2 business days, which is still relatively quick.

A Look at the Customer Service

While conducting this Boom Fantasy review, I reached out to the support team via live chat and email. The agents reply within minutes via chat, whereas email takes a few hours. If you ask me, the response times for each channel meet expectations.

Boom Fantasy also has a help center with more than 60 articles. The resource is comprehensive enough to provide guides and answers to common queries.

Boom Fantasy Gets My Recommendation

I rate Boom Fantasy as a reliable app for US DFS players, and the reasons are simple. The platform has 10+ years of experience, covers all major US sports leagues, and supports several game modes. Plus, it offers regular promos with a Leveling system to reward loyalty.

Boom Fantasy also merits my approval because withdrawals take 30 minutes to 24 hours for most payment methods. The drawback is that you can’t make picks on the website, but it won’t be a big inconvenience since you most likely use your smartphone.
