Robinhood Transfer Bonus 2026: Switch Brokers & Receive a Bonus

Updated: Jul 7, 2026, 5:26 AM ET

Do you know that switching from an external broker to Robinhood gets you a reward? Yes, there is a Robinhood transfer bonus waiting for you if you transfer assets from an external trading account to your Robinhood account.

While the offer sounds simple, it comes with specific requirements. For example, the platform offers a 2% transfer bonus, which you receive only if you’re an active Robinhood Gold subscriber at the time of the transfer. There are also other conditions for maintaining the offer, and we’ll cover them right here.

What Is the Robinhood Transfer Bonus?

The Robinhood transfer bonus comes in three forms: transfer fee reimbursement, limited-time ACATS bonuses, and IRA transfer bonuses. Here are more details about each one:

Transfer Fee Reimbursement

This is the most basic of all three transfer bonuses. In this case, Robinhood reimburses whatever fees your other broker charges, up to $75. You qualify for the bonus only if you transfer assets worth $7,500 or more.

We like that the offer applies to both full and partial account transfers. It also works through the Automated Customer Account Transfer Service (ACATS), which makes it easier to move your eligible assets. The catch is that the trading platform only accepts assets from individual or joint investing accounts, as well as from traditional or Roth IRAs. It does not accept transfers from business, trust, or custodial accounts.

Limited-Time ACATS Bonuses

The Robinhood ACATS transfer bonus is an incentive you receive for moving your assets from an external broker to your Robinhood account via the ACATS. Basically, the platform matches the amount you transferred by a certain percentage.

However, these bonuses are only available for a limited time. For instance, at the time of our review of the Robinhood app, there was a 2% ACATS transfer bonus that lasted for 15 days. Before that, there was a Robinhood 1% transfer bonus that ran for 28 days.

Going through the requirements of the 1% and 2% transfer bonuses, we found that you have to check the boxes below to fully enjoy the offer. Note that these requirements aren't identical across both offers. The 1% bonus doesn't require a Gold subscription and only carries a 2-year hold period, while the 2% bonus is the one tied to a Gold subscription and a 5-year hold. Here's a breakdown of what applies to the 2% offer specifically:

If you violate any of these requirements, Robinhood charges a proportional portion of the bonus cash you received. To give you a better idea of what we mean, here's an example: you transfer $100,000 worth of assets and get a $2,000 (2%) bonus. Later, you withdraw enough to leave $80,000, which is 20% below the net value. Robinhood will charge back 20% of the bonus ($400), leaving you with a $1,600 bonus.

Robinhood also offers a one-time, 60-day grace period once you've held your net transferred asset value and bonus for at least 90 consecutive days. During the 60-day period, you can withdraw up to your original transferred amount without an immediate chargeback, but the bonus portion gets temporarily frozen, and you'll need to redeposit the withdrawn amount before the 60 days are up to avoid a reduction.

IRA Transfer Bonuses

The Robinhood IRA transfer bonus is specifically tailored to Individual Retirement Accounts. You get a 1% match of your total asset value if you move your retirement account (IRA or 401(k)) to its platform.

In addition to the transfer bonus, the platform matches your annual contributions to a self-directed Robinhood IRA by 1%. If you subscribe to the Robinhood Gold program, the bonus bumps up to 3% on your annual contributions.

For this bonus, Robinhood works with the contribution limits set by the IRS. We've mentioned these limits in the table below:

Step-By-Step Guide to Claiming the Robinhood Transfer Bonus

As with all other prediction market apps, signing up is the first thing you need to do to be able to access any offering on Robinhood's trading platform. Now, to get the bonus itself, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the rewards page: Log in to your account and navigate to the rewards section.

  2. Initiate an ACATS transfer: Click on "Transfers" and select the "External Broker" option. Provide your old account details.

  3. Monitor your assets: It will take five to seven business days for your assets to arrive in your Robinhood account.

  4. Get your bonus: The trading platform will offer you the ACATS bonus after the transfer is complete.

How to Subscribe to the Robinhood Gold Program?

When reviewing Robinhood odds (which are basically just the prices of event contracts), the Gold program was among the features that caught our attention. Soon, we learned that it was a premium subscription that unlocked advanced features on your account. Plus, it offers various perks, including a gold card with 3% individual retirement account (IRA) match bonus. Here is how to subscribe to Robinhood Gold:

  1. Log in to the website or app.

  2. Click "Account" and select "Robinhood Gold."

  3. Select "Subscribe" and confirm payment (remember you already linked your bank card).

You get the first 30 days without paying anything. Afterwards, the subscription renews at $5 per month

More Bonuses on the Trading Platform

Besides the transfer bonus, there are other incentives on the trading site. One is the welcome offer, which gives you a stock valued between $5 and $200 after creating an account. Then, you have the referral bonus, which also involves you receiving a stock valued between $5 and $200. You get the offer only when a new user registers using your Robinhood referral code, verifies their identity, and links their bank card to their account.

Final Thought: Is the Robinhood Transfer Bonus Worth It?

The transfer bonus is a nice perk, especially if you have already decided to make the switch. But to determine if it is worth it, you must consider the conditions. For the limited-time ACATS bonuses we found, there’s the must-have Robinhood Gold subscription, which you have to hold for a year. Then, the no-withdrawal policy holds for five years.

On the bright side, there’s the transfer reimbursement fee package that offers up to $75 for asset transfers of $7,500 or more. The IRA transfer bonus is also noteworthy, with up to 3% match if you’re a gold subscriber. So, if you’re thinking of switching to Robinhood to claim these bonuses, you can tap the banner on our page to visit the trading platform and get started.
