NHL Tuesday Picks

The 2020 NHL Playoffs are finally here, with the 24 teams that have played since the return being cut down to the usual 16 playoff teams.

These playoffs are sure to see some upsets with plenty of teams out for revenge. The qualifying rounds that we just experienced threw up some great games and some huge results, so here’s to hoping for an all-time Stanley Cup playoffs in 2020.

Here is how we are projecting the games to go today, with best picks from each matchup.

Blue Jackets @ Lightning

Total goals: Over 5.5 (+120*)

The first game of the 2020 playoffs and we see it being a doozy. Goals are expected by our model here so the plus money for over 5.5 goals is a great play.

Flames @ Stars

Flames ML (+100*)

More plus money being snuffed out by our computer with the underdog Flame looking good to take the early series lead despite their dog status.

Hurricanes @ Bruins

Hurricanes +1.5 (-220*)

Shorter odds here with the Hurricanes at the puck line. Our model doesn’t mind them at the moneyline but the line is the better and safer pick.

Blackhawks @ Golden Knights

Blackhawks +1.5 (-150*)

Similarly to the above pick, our model thinks they are a better chance at the ML than the sportsbooks do, but the puck line is the play. A parlay from these two games could be a decent bet.
