Super Bowl Recap - the teams and game info
As I said, I think this NFL season has been awesome but it has gone by incredibly fast. It only seems like yesterday that we were having the pre-season games! But, Super Bowl LIX is here and we get to see the Kansas City Chiefs change history as they try for a third Super Bowl win back-to-back, a feat which has never been achieved before. They will be facing off against the Eagles who are no stranger to the big stage, having lost to the chiefs only 2 years ago at Super Bowl LVII. Before we jump into the Super Bowl betting promos, let’s have a recap and look at the two teams, and the details of the big day itself.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles had an amazing season and were incredibly consistent throughout with Saquon Barkley performing incredibly, supported by QB Jalen Hurts who continues to rise to superstardom and prove that he is one of the best. For a recap, the Eagles regular season stats were as follows:
- Regular season record: 14W, 3L, .824%
- Regular season standing: NFC East Champions, NFC Champions.
They didn’t actually finish with the best record in the NFC - the Detroit Lions had a 15-2 record but ultimately that didn’t matter. For the playoffs, the Eagles dispatched the Packers 22-10 in the wildcard round, won a close-fought battle with the Rams at 28-22 in the divisional round, and comfortably beat the Commanders in the NFC championship 55-23.
Kansas City Chiefs
After coming off their 2nd Super Bowl win in a row, many expected the Chiefs to be fatigued but they had an awesome regular season led of course by all-time great Mahomes with a superior supporting cast of players like Hollywood Brown, DeAndre Hopkins, Xavier Worthy, and Travis Kelce. Unlike the Eagles, the Chiefs finished with the best record in the AFC and their regular season record is as follows:
- Regular season record: 15W, 2L, .882%
- Regular season standing: AFC West Champions, AFC Champions.
Many expected the Bills to be Super Bowl favorites but it wasn’t to be. The Chiefs obviously got a wildcard round pass, and they then beat the Houston Texas comfortably in the division round 23-14. The AFC Championship against the Bills was incredibly close, and they just managed to hang on with a nail-biting 32-29 win against the Bills.
Super Bowl LIX game details
The big game will take place at the epic Caesars Superdome which has a capacity of over 73,000 after Super Bowl LVII was held at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. This will be the 8th time that the Super Bowl has been hosted at the Superdome with the last event being Super Bowl XLVII in 2013 where the Ravens beat the 49ers. Game details include:
- Date: Sunday the 9th of February.
- Location: Caesars Superdome, New Orleans.
- National Anthem: Jon Batiste.
- Halftime Show: Kendrick Lamar ft. SZA.
- Coverage: Fox & Telemundo, Tubi & NFL+ for streaming.
I can’t wait for the event! The atmosphere in the Superdome should be electric and I’m expecting something special from Kendrick at the halftime show which has obviously become the stuff of legend.

They have slightly different odds compared to BetMGM and have more favorable odds on the Eagles, particularly on the Moneyline. They’ve still got the Chiefs as the favorites, but by a smaller margin:

- Spread: Chiefs -1.0, Eagles +1.0
- Total O/U: 48.5

I’ve been a fan of DraftKings DFS for ages but they also have an incredible sportsbook with one of the best Super Bowl betting promos available. Admittedly, the sportsbook does look a little dated and I think they could improve the layout a bit, but their sports coverage is second to none. The NFL and NBA have particularly great coverage, and you’ve got plenty of college basketball and football too.

Outside the US major leagues, DraftKings has support for UFC, soccer, tennis, golf, motor sports, and 20+ other markets. What to consider when placing your Superb Bowl LIX bets
Now that you’ve seen all the awesome Super Bowl betting promos and have your match info locked, let’s finish with some betting talk. The Super Bowl is unlike any other sporting event in the year so I think you have to take a different approach to betting and consider the following:
Traditionally, everyone goes for the favorite when betting on sports markets - that’s the logical choice. However, for the Super Bowl, the odds are usually incredibly tight and there isn’t much to choose between the two teams. This is reflected at Super Bowl LIX with the moneyline bets - the Chiefs are hovering around -120, while the Eagles are fluctuating between -105 and +110. So, you have to think if you want to play it safe and make a conservative bet on the Chiefs for a small profit, or go for the underdog and try to make a little bit more on the Eagles.
