Have you ever heard of 'The Ewing Theory' before? It's pretty interesting, and after you read my brilliant analysis and pick of this game, you should read about it, but basically the theory goes that the Knicks were actually a better team when Patrick Ewing didn't play than when he did.

Where am I going with this you may ask? Well, this week the Magic traded away four of their starters and still managed to stay competitive with the Blazers on Thursday night for long stretches until they eventually gave in during the final minutes of the game. The point is, the Magic will be better off in the long run cutting ties with players who were okay, but not great. Our data thinks the line is far too big for an opponent that is missing its star players in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The Ewing Theory is real, and this might be the first time ever that it's applied for an entire starting five.
