MLB parlay picks today, Friday, April 17

Combining our hitter and pitcher projections with our MLB player prop tool and even our early-season MLB trends is an ideal way to narrow down a full slate of players to a handful of top targets who can take advantage of their matchup, which is precisely how we've identified these three hitters on Friday.

Specifically, we'll be looking at the Total Bases market, which counts any bases generated by that batter's hits - advancing on the basepaths due to an error, a stolen base or other batter's hits, for example, do not count towards a player's total.

1.  Matt Olson (Braves) to record 2+ total bases

Game: Braves vs, Phillies

Time: 7:05 PM ET

Matt Olson has picked up a pair of bags or more in eight straight games, and he's done it every possible way: multiple hits, doubles, home runs, you name it.

He gets a 49.5% probability to pick up a pair of bases vs. the Phillies tonight, which comes with an edge against his plus-money odds on DraftKings, a significant advantage compared to his minus odds on other books.

He gets Phillies starter Taijuan Walker who's struggling early on with a 7.36 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 4 HR allowed to lefties like Olson, who hits Walker's pitch mix of split/curve/cutter very well.

2. Shohei Ohtani (Dodgers) to record 3+ total bases

Game: Dodgers vs. Rockies

Time: 8:40 PM ET

We go to the superstar next as we take Shohei Ohtani to pick up a trio of bases, another profitable edge identified by our model.

Ohtani is our No.1 overall home run hitter today, with his highest probability to date, with a 28.1% probability to cash this prop with one swing.

He gets a 42.7% probability to pick up multiple hits, fourth-highest of the entire night, and a 54.2% probability of at least 3 bases.

He'll be in Coors Field, a better-friendly environment, vs Rockies starter Tomoyuki Sugano who's off to a decent start through 3 games, but gave up 20 HR with a 1.32 WHIP vs. lefties last year.

3. Jacob Wilson (Athletics) to record 2+ total bases

Game: White Sox vs. Athletics

Time: 9:40 PM ET

Rounding out the parlay is Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson, who hit .311 with a .799 OPS in his rookie season, off to a solid start with a .263 average through 18 games.

He's not flashing the power, but he has elite plate discipline, ranking in the 90th percentile in K% and 94th in Whiff %, though he does tend to swing at pitches outside the zone.

Wilson's picked up at least 2 bases in 8 games so far this season, and draws a 52.4% probability to do so tonight, and his 40.9% probability to pick up at least 2 hits is the highest of any player on the slate, who isn't on the Dodgers. He gets a 10.1% chance to hit a home run.

Chicago will start Davis Martin coming off his worst start of the early season in which he allowed 7 hits and a home run, and sported a 1.20 EHIP and bottom-10th percentile expected batting average last season.

After Martin leaves the game, the White Sox send out their bullpen, which ranks bottom-five in MLB in ERA and WHIP.

MLB props parlay at +882 odds

A parlay of these three batters to record at least 2 total bases comes out to total odds of +882 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

For a big longshot, you can round robin these hitters to each hit a home run at combos of x2 and x3.
