While the slower courts of Indian Wells can blunt the effectiveness of big serves, Hurkacz's sheer height and kick serve still create nightmares here. The sportsbooks are only asking him to cover a remarkably low 2.5-game spread.
Our model projects Hurkacz covering this number 60.7% of the time, creating a highly reliable 5.1% edge against the -125 odds.
Why Hurkacz -2.5 is the pick: A -2.5 spread essentially requires Hurkacz to win the match and secure just a single break of serve across two sets (e.g., 6-4, 7-6). Given his immense ability to hold his own serve and force tiebreaks at worst, the data strongly indicates he will create the minimal separation needed to safely anchor our tennis best bets today.

Getting a 4.5-game cushion on the underdog here is tremendous value.
We assign a 60.2% probability to Merida staying within this spread, offering a solid 3.6% edge.
Why Merida +4.5 games is the pick: Michelsen can be prone to dips in concentration that lead to tight, extended sets. We don't need Merida to pull off the outright upset to cash this tennis bet; we simply need him to extend the rallies and avoid a lopsided defeat. A competitive 6-4, 6-4 loss keeps the margin at exactly four games, comfortably cashing the ticket and making the underdog points the smartest play.

We close out today's tennis best bets under the desert lights with Sebastian Korda taking on Francisco Comesana. Korda's fluid, flat ball-striking cuts through the heavy Indian Wells air beautifully. He is facing Comesana, a player whose success is historically tethered to the South American clay courts. The sportsbooks are offering plus-money (+110) on a 4.5-game spread, which appears to drastically undervalue the surface mismatch.
Our simulations see Korda covering the -4.5 spread 59.1% of the time, generating a towering 11.5% edge.
Why Korda -4.5 games is the pick: This is the highest-edge play on our board. Comesana's clay-court style will likely struggle to penetrate the court against an elite hard-court ball striker like Korda. The American should be able to dictate points from the center of the court and secure multiple breaks of serve. Finding a double-digit percentage edge at positive odds is exactly the type of data-backed value we need to securely close out Thursday's tennis bets.
