Using Spinova - usability and payment methods

A sweepstakes casino could have all the promotions and games in the world, but if the underlying site design is lacking them, I’m less inclined to play at it. With that in mind, for my Spinova review I spent time looking at the desktop and mobile website usability.

How I rate the site design and usability

The site design for Spinova feels a little retro, and I think the basic graphical elements of things like the headers and navigation could be improved. They just look a little low resolution, and it’s definitely not one of the most modern-looking social casinos I’ve played at. However, I can look past that as the navigation and usability of the site are excellent.

You’ve got a classic pop-out left-hand side menu that contains links to all the important features, such as the game categories and your virtual currency balances. The games are also properly segmented into logical categories like slots and table games, and I think this would make it easier for beginners to find what they want.

Page loading speeds are fast, and I’ve never had any problems with connectivity or purchasing Gold Coin packages. Speaking of purchases, you can purchase optional Gold Coin packages here, and when I tested this process, I was able to make a purchase using Visa, MasterCard, or online banking. I haven’t yet made any SC prize redemptions, but it appears that this is possible for cash prizes, provided you’ve met the 1x playthrough requirement for bonus SC. The sweeps rules also don’t explicitly state the minimum redemption amount, but I assume it’s around 100 SC.

What I thought of the mobile gaming experience

I couldn’t find a downloadable mobile app for Spinova, but this is to be expected—95% of US social casinos don’t have a mobile app. Instead, I loaded the site using Chrome on my Samsung Galaxy S23. The mobile-responsive version of the website works well, and I think it gives you an adequate gaming experience.

You’ve essentially got the same layout and navigation, and the games are still easy to find. I tested the table games and slots on my smartphone and was impressed with the loading speeds and connectivity. Is Spinova legit? Licensing, security, and support features

For this Spinova review I wanted to make sure that US customers have a safe and secure gaming experience, so for the below section I explored licensing, security, the virtual currencies, and support options.

As Spinova is a US sweepstakes casino, it doesn’t need a gambling license. Instead, it must comply with US sweepstakes regulations for the states it operates in. To finish this Spinova review, let’s look at the fun stuff - the games. Currently, Spinova has a relatively small collection of games from one software developer. I think this is an area for improvement, and I assume that in time, the site will boost its game offering and work with more iGaming developers.

Software developers

I could only see games from one software developer, which is unusual. The developer is Casino Web Scripts, who I am not familiar with. However, I did some research and digging and can confirm that the developer is licensed and has their games tested for fairness by the iTech Labs and BMM Testing.

So, I have no reservations about the fairness of the games, but I would like to see the site branch out and add games from top developers featured at social casinos like McLuck and Stake.us, such as Pragmatic Play, Relax Gaming, and BGaming.

Game variety

Despite working with only one software developer, Spinova actually has a decent game variety including the following categories:

The slot games are the most numerous and you have some fun titles like Buffalos Go Wild: Legendary Treasure Hold, Chinese Lucky Year, and Superhero Reels. I think my favorite slot game here though is Reels of Zeus: Godlike Hold and Win. This is a cool Greek mythology game, and it actually has an above-average RTP of 97.81%—you rarely see any slots with an RTP this high in modern sweepstakes gaming.

I was drawn to the arcade/instant games too, as they have some classics like Plinko, Coin Flip, Dice, and Keno. I used most of my Gold Coins playing Coin Flip!

Table games at Spinova

I spent some time playing the slots and arcade games, but I think my favorite games at Spinova were the table games. You’ve got the classic trio of blackjack, roulette, and baccarat, but also some other top tables like Sic Bo and Dragon Tiger. These are all single-player games though, and at this point in time, I couldn’t find any live dealer games. Hopefully they add these in time, but for now, I think you’ve got excellent entertainment value from the existing single-player table games.
