Now, something my Skillz review determined early on is that the gaming doesn’t happen on the website. Instead, players have to download individual game apps on their mobile devices. The process is super simple. Just scan the QR code on your desktop screen, and you’ll be directed to the Apple or Android app store.
As you can expect from a website that doesn’t hold any games, the Skills platform is super-fast. The landing page is extremely vibrant and uses flowing color changes to guide you through different sections. You don’t have to wonder whether Skillz is legit or not, as the iOS app has a 4.6-star rating on the Apple Store. The Android app has a 4.5-star rating on the Google Play Store. As such, you can rest assured that everything is in order. Your gaming sessions are glitch-free, and you can even watch replays of previous games.
Unlike the 100% sweepstakes gaming approach you’ll find in my Moonspin review, Skillz gives players the option to purchase bonus cash and compete against each other. Although this isn’t compulsory, you’ll love the fact that doing so is quick and easy using familiar payment methods like your trusted credit card. You can also use PayPal or Apple Pay.
You can change your preferred payment method at any time by tapping the credit card icon on the deposit page screen. Players can choose between $10, $10, $50, and $100 in purchase amounts, and the amount of bonus cash is clearly shown on each tab. When you compete and win more bonus cash, you can redeem your balance at any time using the same payment method you used to deposit. However, my Skillz review discovered that you can only redeem an amount up to what you’d have purchased using the banking methods I mentioned before. The rest of your prize is sent via paper check if you’re in the US. Prize redemptions are crazy slow, taking as much as six weeks.
As with everything else I’ve touched on in this Skillz sweepstakes casino review, the customer support here isn’t your usual. First off, it seems like there’s live chat at first glance, but the pop-up only allows you to search the FAQ section. This isn’t entirely a bad thing, as you can see from my Scrooge Casino review and other reviews that sweeps casinos rarely have live chat.
