Bonus offer - An offer of hospitality to start your gaming

You’ll notice that all social casinos, like if you checked out our Fire Kirin review, provide special bonuses and promotions to attract new players. These promos usually provide players with free virtual currency to use on the platform to play games or free spins so that new customers can test the platform for free.

The Big Fish Casino’s welcome bonus is advertised as 100,000 free chips, but when I created my account, I was welcomed with 500,000, which was a pleasant surprise. However, this offer was lacking in comparison to the Stake.us bonus of $55 Stake Cash and 260,000 Gold Coins. You must know that the virtual currency, Chips, is used to play on the platform and has no actual monetary value.

I was happy to see that this bonus didn’t require a promo code. I completed a simple registration process by providing an email address and choosing a solid password. After I verified my email address by clicking on the verification link I received in my provided email, the free chips appeared in my account immediately.

Also, I noticed that there is a bonus vault in the down-right corner of the screen. When I clicked on it, there were two bonuses available that provided free chips:

  • Bronze Vault: 1,400 to 2,800 free Chips every 30 minutes.
Silver Vault: 1,500 to 3,300 free Chips every 4 hours.

How does the My Big Fish Casino bonus compare to others?

Before diving deeper into our review, let's take a look at how My Big Fish Casino's sweeps casino bonus compares against others:

Usability, looks & feel - An experience designed with mobile users in mind

I was disappointed when I visited Big Fish Casino on my desktop PC. The site is designed for mobile screens because it doesn’t use the whole PC screen properly. The social casino is placed in the center, while significant portions on the left and right were unused.

Because of this decision, some UI elements are small and hard to see. Thankfully, the site is simple, so there isn’t much displayed at all times. In the top left corner, I noticed a profile button where I could change my profile picture and username and see how many Chips I have in my account balance. In the top center, you will see the account balance and current VIP level. Also, the top right corner is reserved for the “Shop” button, where you can purchase Chips if you wish to do so.

At the bottom, I notice the Shop, “Lobby” button, and treasure and vault bonus buttons. If you scroll to the very bottom, you will find information like the terms of service and customer support.

The website is easy to navigate, and everything can be found in a few clicks. However, I can’t recommend playing on Big Fish Casino using a desktop browser because it wasn’t designed for it. You will have a much better experience at Stake.us, for example.

Is there a reliable app for Big Fish Casino?

Providing a mobile-compatible platform is essential because many players like to play casino-like games on the go. Thankfully, Big Fish Casino has a native mobile app for iOS and Android devices.

I downloaded the Big Fish Casino app to my Android phone, and it worked flawlessly. All I needed to do was search for Big Fish Casino in the Google Play Store, and the app appeared. If you plan to try out this social casino on your phone, please download the app developed by Big Fish Games. As I mentioned, Big Fish social casino has been designed with a mobile-first approach. You will need around 32 MB of free space on your device to download the app. When I installed the app, I noticed the layout described in the section above, explaining why the games and functionality are the same.

I didn't experience any significant issues while using the app. All the games load quickly, and claiming the free Chips from Vault bonus was done simply with a few taps of the screen.

Payments - All Big Fish Casino reviews point to the same thing

I have done a few social casino reviews, such as my Orion Stars review, and I always inform readers that on these platforms, you only play for fun by using virtual currency provided by the platform. This means there is no real money gambling here, and you can acquire these virtual coins through bonuses or optional coin package purchases.

When I tested this social casino’s payment methods, I was disappointed by the options available to purchase a coin package. There were only Debit cards (Visa, Mastercard), Paysafecard, and referral cards. This is a minimal range of payment methods in comparison to reputable websites like Stake.us, which have a much broader range of payment methods.

Several packages are available for purchases ranging from $1.99 to $249.99. Also, if you decide to make a purchase, you will get some points for the VIP program bundled with chips. You need to know that you can’t redeem Chips for prizes; they are only used to having fun while playing games on the app.

Even though the platform appears safe, I wouldn’t purchase a Chip package because there are many better platforms where you can play casino-like games.

Customer support - Limited support channels

When I first looked for customer support, I had trouble finding it, which was the complete opposite situation from my Funzpoints Casino review. In my experience, it is unnecessarily hidden and should be displayed better on the website. I needed to jump through hoops to find a dedicated customer support button. Firstly, you need to click on the settings button, which will bring a menu where you need to select the “Game Help” option. This will open a new page where the FAQ section is located. Here, you can find general information about the account and game rules.

To get in touch with customer support, you must click on the “Contact Customer Support” button hidden in the “More” category. You can submit a ticket containing the information about your problem via email here.

I didn’t find live chat or phone customer support options. This is a bad sign because you can't get in touch with a customer support agent quickly. The email option can take up to 24 hours or more to receive a response if there are many tickets. It is not only my opinion that Big Fish Casino’s customer support channels are seriously lying behind reputable platforms like Stake.us.

License and security - A secure and safe gaming platform

As Big Fish Games Casino is a social casino, it doesn’t require a license to do business. The reason is there is no real money gambling here; you can only play games for fun. But that doesn’t mean safety and security are not necessary.

As you might expect, Big Fish Casino takes responsibility for the safety of its players. The website uses strict security measures, like SSL encryption, to prevent hackers from acquiring players' personal and monetary data. Even though you play on this social casino only with virtual currency, you still have the option to purchase coin packages, so preventing such sensitive banking information from leaking is crucial. But as I mentioned, you don’t have to worry; I didn’t find any security concerns while using the platform.

Also, Big Fish is dedicated to responsible gaming. Because of that, players younger than 18 won’t be able to register an account at Big Fish social casino. Also, there are tools you can use to set limits for your purchases, gaming session limits, or request account suspension. You simply need to submit a ticket to customer support and clearly state that you want to activate Self-Exclusion.

Plenty of Big Fish Casino bonuses and VIP rewards

Big Fish Casino TreasuresMy Big Fish Casino ratings are generally favorable regarding the bonuses and promotions available in the app. I discovered that there is a Big Fish Casino VIP program. I was enrolled in the VIP program as soon as I made an account, and I could see that it has 15 tiers. It is the standard VIP program you can find at many other social casinos. I was able to progress through levels by playing games on the platform and making purchases.

As I progressed through the levels, I unlocked various benefits for my account, like coin package multipliers, increased chips from the Vault bonuses, and increased daily maximum free Chips I could win from the free bonus wheel spin. When you climb to the high tires, like tier 10, you will unlock a Treasure Chest bonus, which will award you instant free Chips. Also, when you reach tier 11, you will unlock a dedicated customer support agent, considerably reducing response time when you encounter an issue.

From my experience, the first few levels are easy to climb, but the progress will considerably slow down from tier 7. I also found that players can jump-start their progression by purchasing a coin package of at least $5.00 in value.

Games - Small game catalog of original games

When I signed up for Big Fish social casino, I was surprised to find that almost all the games are originals developed in-house. Currently, there are 88 titles available, 70 of which are slots, and the rest are table games like roulette, blackjack, and video poker. I tried Buffalo Gold Stampede, Aloha Fortunes, Mad Mouse, Dogtown, and Raging Reels from slot games. As you can see from these names, various title themes are present, from Wild West to Hawaii-themed slots. From my experience, all games load quickly and work fine, but there is no information about the RTP of these games, which is a red flag.

In my opinion, you should pick a platform to game that has a much bigger catalog and has provably fair games. One such platform is Stake.us. There, you will find literally thousands of games developed by top software developers such as Net Ent, Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Hacksaw Gaming, and many more. Stake.us also created a series of games, such as Plinko, Hilo, Dice, and many more, which can’t be played anywhere else.

In addition, websites like Stake.us have a live dealer game section which is completely absent at Big Fish social casino.

Coins - Virtual currency at Big Fish Casino explained

As I’ve mentioned previously, Big Fish Casino is not a real-money casino. On this platform, you will use virtual currency to play games, which are available in the app or on the website. The virtual currency is called Chips and has no actual monetary value. This means that it can’t be withdrawn or exchanged for any type of real-world currency. Players can acquire chips through promotions and bonuses or purchase them as a package.

Because Big Fish is a social casino, you won’t see the possibility of redeeming these chips for prizes. However, there are platforms where prizes are available. Stake.us is one of the best, based on my experience. Stake has two types of virtual currency: Gold Coins and Stake Cash. The main difference is that Stake Cash can be redeemed for cash prizes, while Gold Coins can’t be redeemed for any kind of prize. If you open an account at Stake.us, you can get a welcome bonus of $55 Stake Cash and 260,000 Gold Coins + 5% rakeback to explore everything the platform has to offer.

Conclusion - Not so great social casino experience

In the end, I’m not a big fan of what Big Fish Casino has to offer. You can only play for fun, and there is no possibility of redeeming prizes, all while the game catalog is quite limited, with only 88 games. The primary focus is on slot games, so if you don’t like those, you will have a bad time from the start. In addition, the website version of the platform clearly wasn’t optimized for big PC monitors.

Because of all the reasons listed in this review, I must advise looking in the other direction if you wish to have a good time. My platform of choice is Stake.us because it has all the components of a well-crafted website and an enormous catalog of games.
