Underdog launched its prediction markets product in September 2025. Underdog Predict offers the ability to trade event contracts in six different categories. Of those, Underdog sports predictions are the most prevalent, and are available as Team Picks or Player Picks.
We will tell you more about the differences between Team Picks and Player Picks, with some examples, a little later in this guide. But first we’ll explain how Underdog’s partnership with Crypto.com Derivatives North America (CDNA) works in practice, show you how to access Underdog Predict, and discuss the states where this product is currently available.
Underdog is able to offer trading on event contracts thanks to its partnership with CDNA (Crypto.com Derivatives North America) which is a CFTC-regulated exchange. Within this partnership, CDNA is responsible for the contract infrastructure, while Underdog presents them as an option on its existing app. Just make sure you're in an eligible state and also meet the minimum Underdog age requirement before you decide to register and start claiming.
Most event contracts start with a simple question like ’Will the New York Knicks beat the Chicago Bulls?’ with the option to select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Each event contract has a value of $1 (100%) and each option will have a percentage assigned, which reflects the implied probability of the outcome happening, based on market sentiment. The cost of the contract at the time you buy in is not fixed. Ahead of the event, external events, such as a key player getting injured, will mean that the probability can change, and the value of your contract will go up or down accordingly.
One thing that can be a little confusing is the maximum cap per contract, which Underdog defines as a $ amount. If the cap was set at $10, this does not mean the value of an individual contract increases, it means that you can buy a maximum of 10 $1 contracts for that event.

It is worth bearing in mind that prediction market platforms are very new to the US, and changes in US laws may affect the availability of Underdog Predict over time. But for now, it is available in 38 US states plus Washington DC, with the following 12 states excluded: Arizona, Colorado, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.
Underdog has opted to include prediction markets alongside its existing DFS offerings. This means you can only access Underdog Predict by downloading the brand’s official iOS or Android app. Here’s how you go about it:

You will now be invited to make your first deposit of at least $10, which you can do using Visa or Mastercard, Trustly, Google Pay, or Apple Pay. Note that PayPal and Venmo deposits are accepted on Underdog generally, but currently can't be used to fund prediction market entries specifically.
As we discussed in our main Underdog review, the brand offers event contracts in six different categories: sports, politics, culture, crypto, economics, climate. Of those sports is clearly the most popular option and is the focus of our guide.
Within the Underdog Predict sports categories, there are two options: Team Picks and Player Picks with event contracts available for these sports:
✅ NFL
✅ NBA
✅ NHL
✅ MLB
✅ CFB
✅ Soccer
✅ Tennis
Also, as one of the best sports prediction market apps, we weren't surprised to see that Underdog has made it clear that it intends to add more sports to the list over the coming months.
Team Picks are the most straightforward type of event contracts with just ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ choices. You may also see them described as ‘binary contracts’. This description reflects the fact that there are only two possible outcomes, where the payout you receive is either 100% ($1) or zero.
We will go back to our earlier example ’Will the New York Knicks beat the Chicago Bulls?’ to demonstrate.
Here, you might see ‘Yes’ 65% and ‘No’ 35% indicating that 65% of users believe the Knicks will win the match. If you agree, you can buy a ‘Yes’ contract for $0.65, but if you feel the Bulls are capable of springing a surprise then the opposing ‘No’ contract costs $0.35.
Depending on the eventual outcome of the game, your payout would be $1 if you predicted correctly. The maximum payout is always $1, the profit is in the difference between that, and the original cost of the contract.
Player Picks can also be described as ‘scalar contracts’ because the options extend to player-specific statistics. For our New York Knicks vs Chicago Bulls NBA example you might select Knicks Center, Karl-Anthony Towns and include some, or all, of the following statistics:
✅ Points
✅ Total Rebounds
✅ Assists
✅ Steals
✅ Blocks
✅ Turnovers
Using the Player Picks option is more for convenience than anything else, because you can add all of your selections in one place. Note that each selection is an individual $1 contract, and your payout will reflect the number of correct predictions you made.
