A Brief Explanation of How Underdog Prediction Markets Work
Underdog Predict is a relatively new product that enables you to buy and sell contracts based on real life events. In essence, you answer yes or no to a simple question. An example would be ‘Will it rain in Houston tomorrow’.
All contracts are peer-to-peer and have a value of $1, split between the yes/no selections, which in turn reflects the probability of an outcome. In our example, if the split was 60% yes, and 40% no, and you choose yes, you buy the contract at $0.60. If your prediction proves correct you’ll receive $1, providing a $0.40 profit.
