Robinhood is a multi-faceted operator that offers a range of features, including futures, banking, and crypto funds. More recently, they have developed a Robinhood app for their prediction markets section, and we’ve been testing it to create a full review.
In this app review, we are concentrating on the prediction markets section, including the functionality of trade contracts, the usability of the app, and the supported prediction markets. We’ll also give our thoughts on the legitimacy of the operator and things like its compliance, security, and transparency so you can see if it’s a worthwhile prediction market operator or not.
Before looking at things like Robinhood fees and odds, we wanted to make sure the operator is legit. With that in mind, for the Robinhood app, we checked out core features like regulatory compliance and security.
Robinhood offers its trade event contracts through Robinhood Derivatives, LLC, in partnership with regulated exchanges including KalshiEX LLC, ForecastEX LLC, and Rothera Exchange and Clearing LLC, all of which fall under CFTC oversight.
The app has SSL encryption, and you can enable two-factor authentication for your account login too, which we recommend doing. A full KYC check is also required during the account creation process, including verifying your email and/or sms, plus providing ID documentation so that your likeness can be checked. These are all measures we expect prediction apps to enforce. For transparency, there’s plenty of documentation relating to the terms and conditions, general disclosures, privacy, and general company information.
If you need help with things like the Robinhood odds, there’s live chat and telephone support, plus a help center. We tested the support systems and found that while the phone line is typically available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, between 7 am-9 pm ET (for investing/event-contract related issues), the live chat operates 24/7.
| Support Method | Availability |
|---|---|
| Live Chat | 24/7 via app |
| Telephone | 7 AM to 9 PM ET |
The Robinhood app is available for download for iOS and Android devices and it gives you the ability to fully manage your trade events contracts and look at everything that this operator offers in terms of prediction markets. The main app features include:
From our testing, this is essentially your one-stop shop for managing your Robinhood account and making your trade event contract decisions. Currently, the app organizes its event contracts into categories including sports, politics, weather, commodities, and entertainment. Robinhood first entered event contracts with election markets in October 2024, then officially launched its dedicated Prediction Markets Hub on March 17, 2025.
From our testing of the Robinhood app, it looked as if they mainly concentrated on NFL and NBA prediction markets as these are the events we typically saw promoted. For instance, we saw various prediction markets for NFL and NBA regular season games upcoming in the next week.
There are event options too, though, and we saw a range of markets for crypto price fluctuations, plus things like economic decisions, company valuations, and general pop culture propositions. We do think there is enough to satisfy the curiosity of different customers.
When it comes to prediction markets and managing your trade event contracts, we think the Robinhood app is spot on. It has all the features we expect, and the stylish and easy-to-use interface also helps. We do think it needs to expand its market offering, though, if it intends to compete with other top prediction market apps. We’ve reflected these thoughts in the pros and cons below:
That’s the basic features of the app reviewed, but how does it work in practice? We spent a long time testing the functionality of the app and how you can do different processes. Overall, it’s well-designed, and the interface is both stylish and easy to use.
You have a primary navigation that allows you to do things like manage your account and look at the different prediction markets. For the market sections, we like how the events and their “yes” or “no” options are displayed. It’s very easy to see the market prices, but they also offer additional information such as the trade volume and a graph that shows the change in market prices. Beneath each market, you then have the trade contract options with their market price clearly displayed - this all makes things easy for new users who perhaps aren’t familiar with prediction markets.
When it comes to actually purchasing trade contracts, we thought the process was fantastic and you essentially get a step-by-step guide. It’s a case of selecting the yes or no option for the proposition and entering the number of trade contracts you want to purchase at that price. You will then get a breakdown of your total cost, including the trading fees. We also like that it shows your final payout if you get the prediction correct.
It’s just an easy process, and we were able to purchase trade contracts within a few minutes. Obviously, you also have to deposit money into your account first and think about things like the Robinhood promo code, but the actual trading process on the Robinhood app is a breeze.
To access prediction markets on Robinhood, you’ll need to create an account and use the mobile app, as event contracts aren’t fully accessible on desktop.
Click our links or banners to open Robinhood.
Select Sign Up and enter your personal details.
Complete the initial identity verification (requirements may vary by location).
Download the Robinhood app from the App Store or Google Play.
Log in to the app and finish setting up your account.
Once your standard Robinhood investing account is open, search for "Prediction markets" in the app and select Yes or No on any contract to begin a separate onboarding flow. You'll need to be approved for a Robinhood Derivatives account before you can trade event contracts.
Note that if a previous application was rejected, or you disable and re-enable event contracts, a 30-day waiting period may apply before reapplying. Once logged in, you can add funds, set up payment methods, and access the prediction markets hub to browse and trade available event contracts. A Robinhood referral code may be available to enter during sign-up, but it isn’t required to start trading.
We hope you have found my Robinhood app review useful and you now have a better idea of how it works and what it offers. For prediction markets, this app offers smooth usability and we think it could be a good option for beginners who are getting used to how things work. You can browse the available propositions easily, the fee structure is explained in simple percentages, and managing your active trade events contracts is also an easy process.
We do think that compared to some other apps and operators, Robinhood does need to add more variety. It currently offers contracts for sports, politics, weather, commodities, and entertainment, whereas some competitors also offer more specialized categories like geopolitics, tech milestones, or company-specific finance markets. Still, those things may come in time, though, and we still think this is a solid entry into the prediction market industry. To give it a try, you can tap any of the banners or links featured on this page.

Yes. There is both a Robinhood iOS and Android app. The app will be your primary method of managing your trade contracts and looking at the available markets. As far as we can see, you cannot access the prediction markets section for trading via the desktop website, so it’s essential that you download the Robinhood mobile app.
