Punt Now Australia Desktop Website
I know that mobiles are mainly used now for sports betting, but I wanted to make sure Aussies who use desktop computers or laptops can also have a great experience at Punt Now. With that in mind, I checked out the style and design of the desktop website - I think it’s one of the better-looking sites I’ve seen, and it definitely has decent usability.
I like the simple black, orange, and grey color scheme - it makes the headings and text easy to read, and the orange highlights make important elements easier to identify. The site also follows the standard sportsbook layout - a pop-out menu and the sports categories on the left, main betting markets in the middle, and your bet slip and additional info on the right - if you’ve used a sportsbook before, you should be able to get to grips with this site instantly.
I like how the different sports are segmented, too. If you click on one of the main categories, such as basketball, a drop-down list expands that shows you the different leagues/competitions available. Everything is just logical and simple to use. Loading speeds are fine, and when I tested the live betting, I didn’t notice any lag with the page speeds or odds refreshing.
Mobile Sports Betting at Punt Now
Like many of you, I generally make sports bets on my smartphone, so for this Punt Now review, I wanted to test the mobile accessibility. I was pleased to see that there is a Punt Now app for both Android and iOS devices, and you can download it from either the App Store or Google Play Store. The app doesn’t have amazing ratings on either store, but still, I downloaded it and checked it out for myself.
I personally couldn’t see any issues with the app - it is much easier to use than the desktop website, and I was pleased with the main navigation. You can still easily switch between the different sports categories, and I found the touchscreen elements to be responsive with big enough, tough hit boxes.
From what I could see, you get the full functionality of the desktop website and access to all the available sports. The live betting experience on the mobile app was also fine, and the loading times were just as quick as the desktop site. I did notice a slight delay in some of the odds refreshing, but it wasn’t enough to cause me to miss any bets or to mess up my bet slip. Overall, I think this is a solid mobile app and it definitely gives you a decent sports betting experience - I don’t think it’s one of the best I’ve ever tested, though.
What Is the Sports Betting Experience Like a Punt Now?
Now we come to the best part of the Punt Now review - the sportsbook and what you can do here! This is what you’ve come for and I’ve spent ages trawling through the various sports and looking at how everything works. Overall, I think the sportsbook offering is detailed, and you’ve got plenty of options regardless of which sport you follow the most.
Supported Sports
The first thing I check when I’m looking at betting sites in Australia is the main sports categories they support. I personally like basketball and footy, but if you were doing the same, you’d look for the sports and competitions you want to bet on. I think Punt Now has an OK selection of sports, but it’s definitely not the most extensive I’ve seen. Currently, when creating this Punt Now Australia review, the following sports were available:

For example, with Aussie Rules AFL matches, you can make the following bets on most games:

I had fun testing the different betting options and adding selections to my bet slip. I mainly tested the Aussie Rules, NBA, and footy bets and I don’t really have anything negative to report. It appears to be more detailed for horse racing, as there is a stream along the top that shows the current and upcoming races you can bet on. I like this feature as you can easily keep track of the live action and make sure you don’t miss out on any bets.
The live betting section for each sport is straightforward and basically the same as the outright betting section. I didn’t notice as many live streaming options, which was a little disappointing, but you do get a nice 2D render of the game action, so you can follow the flow of play. There is also an OK amount of in-game stats to help make your bets.
In terms of the bet variety, you’ve got all the standard options that I mentioned previously, plus a generous selection of props bets where the odds will update in real time to reflect the game action.
My Experiences with In-Play Betting at This Sportsbook
I tried in-play betting for horse racing and some footy matches, and I had a great time. I was actually using the mobile app to follow the stats and place a few bets while I was watching the action on TV. It’s incredibly easy to use the in-play betting, and I never experienced any issues adding items to my bet slip, even when the odds refreshed while I was doing it. Compared to other Australian sportsbooks, the odds seem consistent, and there was no major difference from other sites.
