Today’s best NCAA trading cards cross over between basketball, football, and other sports. And the most desirable slabs are often those depicting now-major stars in college uniforms during their rookie years. But where can you pull these grails?
In this guide, we’ll introduce you to five popular card rips platforms offering opportunities to pull NCAA cards, as well as other, more coveted collectibles featuring former college stars, from single- and multi-sport card packs. These sites are Phygitals, ClutchPacks, Underdog Rips, Slabz, and Packz.io. And here’s what each currently has to offer.
Collegiate sports have always been a major stepping stone to pro leagues in the US. And as we all know only too well, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) oversees and organizes a lot of different games in the US - including:
Players from all the above are featured on collectible NCAA digital cards and physical trading cards. And the most cherished examples today tend to be cards featuring now-legendary ballers and heavy hitters like vintage Stephen Curry cards. Or Tom Brady collectibles picturing Brady in full University of Michigan garb. The prospect of pulling one of these historic cards via live card breaks, or from a randomized card pack ripping site, is quite exciting.
You won’t currently find card packs with specific NCAA themes at all in the card rips world. But one-off NCAA cards aren’t completely unknown, and can often be pulled from other, broader-themed packs. ClutchPacks offers more early-era Quinshon Judkins and Colston Loveland collectibles than you might think in its “Football Ascent” packs, for example. While Caitlin Clark Contenders Campus Cards and the like have been spied on Phygitals and elsewhere.
Naturally, many of these sites still offer opportunities to pull pro-league NBA and NFL trading cards featuring former college stars in all their modern-day glory, too.
Where can you rip NCAA cards right now? Well, we’ve seen them up for grabs on Phygitals, ClutchPacks, Slabs and Packz.io. While on all these sites - and with Underdog Rips’ recently launched app - you can potentially pull NBA, NFL, and major-league collectible cards featuring now-iconic former collegiate stars, too.
Below, you’ll see a table comparing what these top brands currently have to offer to NCAA fans. We’ll then follow this up with a more thorough review of each standalone site.
| Card rips site | Best for | Packs that might contain occasional NCAA cards | Card pack price range | Exciting potential NCAA pulls |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Phygitals | Rare college star chase cards. | Basketball, Football, Baseball and Multisport packs. | $50 - $5,000. | 2024 Caitlin Clark #CL1 Contenders Campus Legends. |
| ClutchPacks | First-time rippers. | Multisport, Soccer, Football, Basketball and Baseball packs. | $25 - $2,500. | 025 Quinshon Judkins Topps Chrome Bowman #RR-18 Radiating Rookies. 2025 Colston Loveland Mosaid Purple Scope #304. |
| Underdog Rips | Major-league cards featuring former college stars. | Sports, Baseball, Basketball and Football packs. | $5 - $2,500. | More recent Tom Brady and Josh Allen grails. |
| Slabz | User interface and design. | Soccer, Football, Baseball, Basketball and Sports packs. | $100 - $250. | 2025 Garett Nussmeier Bowman University Chrome Football #189. |
| Packz.io | Bonus offers. | Sports and Football packs. | $25 - $1,000. | Bowman’s Best University Football Cards. |
NCAA cards are out there, then. In fact, with pretty much all the above sites, we found that there’s potential to pull either NCAA-era or modern-day former NCAA star cards whenever you rip sports cards online.
But which brand is best for what, and for whom? Well, here’s our take on that…
We didn’t see any NCAA-specific card packs up for grabs at Phygitals right now, sadly. But this top-rated card pulling platform was advertising dedicated “Basketball”, “Football” and “Baseball” packs, each of which had six tiers apiece ranging from $25 to $1,000. The site’s mixed-use “Multisport” packs were priced up to a whopping $5,000. And we found that any of these packs could potentially contain cards featuring former NCAA stars.
Phygitals’ higher-priced packs can potentially conceal some serious past-college star grails, too. Case in point, the brand’s iconic “Premium Multisport Pack” was offering a slim chance of pulling a 2020 Panini Absolute Kaboom! Gold Patrick Mahomes II #KP-M 5/10 card with a current estimated value of more than $60,000 at the time of writing. While after shopping around a bit on their online marketplace, we spied a super-rare, college-era 2024 Caitlin Clark #CL1 Contenders Campus Legends card up for grabs, too.
Like Phygitals, ClutchPacks offers you the chance to potentially pull cards featuring former NCAA greats whenever you rip one of its mixed “Multisport” packs. Here, said combo packs feature pro-graded slabs from the worlds of basketball, football, baseball, and other top sports, too - including soccer. While we found that whether you buy in at $25 or $2,500, the platform’s top Tom Brady grails can currently be hit in any pack - which is great news if you’re not a big spender.
Football, basketball and baseball each get their own sport-specific packs on the site, too. And actual college-era cards could feature in any of these, too - the Loveland and Judkins examples listed in our table above were both potential pulls advertised on the site’s “Football Ascent” pack page at the time of writing, for example. This is currently priced at $100.
What stands out most about the site, mind, is its simple card reveal animations and minimalist, beginner-friendly design - which is a far cry from the stylized claw machines and myriad pack options available at Phygitals.
Underdog Rips was launched as an offshoot of the wider Underdog fantasy sports brand in mid-2026. And already, it’s fast becoming one of the most popular card rips platforms around for sports card rips - particularly among fans seeking NFL and NBA chase cards.
We didn’t see any NCAA or college years cards advertised in any of the site’s competitively priced “Sports Starter”, “Sports Legend” and “Sports All-Star” packs currently. But we did spy several standout PSA and BGS-graded slabs depicting iconic stars who originally cut their teeth in collegiate games, such as Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Tom Brady, to name a few.
It’s also worth noting that with packs starting out at just $5 and a rare, app-only interface, Underdog Rips is pretty unique in the card rips world. After all, most competitors run on web-only platforms, and price their entry-level sports packs from $25+.
What makes Slabz stand out from the crowd? Well, once again the site doesn’t offer dedicated NCAA card packs right now. But it does offer one of the best user experiences we've personally encountered when pulling soccer, football, baseball, basketball and sports packs - all of which, of course, might sometimes feature former NCAA stars here, too.
Slabz is super fun to actually rip with as well. Ripping NCAA digital cards takes place via hyper-realistic CG animations, complete with quirky sound effects, and the site’s own original background music. What’s more, other users’ real-time pulls get their own information banner, and the site’s “Boost” options offer you the potential to unlock bonus packs whenever you hit certain spending targets.
If purchasing cards outright appeals to you, the site offers much more than just rips, too - its “Marketz” and “Auctionz” tabs offer P2P buying and selling opportunities, with Campus Legends, Draft Picks and other popular college card series making the odd appearance.
Packz.io is probably best-recognized for its Pokemon packs and luxury watch-themed mystery boxes. But there are ample cross-sport and football-specific card packs up for grabs on the site, too - and their iconic “Sports Hall of Fame Packs” have built up an incredible rep among serious collectors in recent years.
We didn’t spy any NCAA cards up for grabs in the site’s Sports packs at the time of writing. But Packz.io has previously stocked Bowman’s Best University Football cards in the past. And we can tell you firsthand that its inventory is added to and bulked up on the regular. So, watch this space.
In the meantime, there are tons of competitive bonuses you can take advantage of on the site - including a “no-sweat” bonus pack on signup, with a 100% Full Market Value (FMV) buyback available if you dislike your first pull.
The best card rips brands offering opportunities to rip NCAA cards digitally tend to offer the following important features. So, be sure to keep an eye out for these when shopping around.
NCAA-specific card packs aren’t actually a thing on most card rips sites yet, but the best brands should offer potential NCAA and former college star card pulls in their multi-sport, basketball and other sport-themed packs.
Look out for brands that offer easy to read pulling percentages across different card types and categories.
If you don’t like a card you’ve pulled, you should always be able to sell it back to the site for a competitive price, such as 80-95% of its FMV, for example.
Top brands will package cards properly in top loaders and protective sleeves, and should offer you detailed tracking info to boot.
All card rips should be completely randomized, and preferably use provably fair tech to determine your pulls.
Naturally, all the sites we’ve reviewed today offer these essential features, and more. Although each individual platform does come with its own pros and cons. So you might want to click through to our more detailed brand reviews of each site when weighing up where’s best to rip next.
NCAA-themed card packs generally don’t exist among the best card rips sites right now. But you can still pull potential NCAA grails on sites like Phygitals, ClutchPacks and Slabs from randomized football, basketball and multi-sport packs.
Meanwhile, at Underdog Rips, there’s potential to snag some seriously valuable NBA and NFL cards featuring players with well-known collegiate backgrounds. And from time to time, Packz.io features Bowman’s Best University Football cards, or chase cards from other popular college series, too.
What’s more, all five sites offer awesome features in their own right - and are tons of fun to actually rip with, regardless of what kinds of collectibles and trading cards you’re hoping to land.
The most valuable and desirable college-era cards tend to be those featuring now-major players, complete with autographs and one-of-a-kind rarity. In January 2024, for example, a 2022 Caitlin Clark Bowman University Chrome 1st Bowman SuperFractor Autograph 1/1 card famously sold for more than $75,000. While classic Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr cards from the Bowman University Chrome series have also made headlines.
Prominent card rip platforms like Phygitals and Clutchpacks offer opportunities to pull real NCAA cards digitally from multi- and single-sport card packs, then get your physical card pulls shipped, or resell them back to the platform. Elsewhere, other platforms offer digital-only collectible cards you can store and show off via your own personal online gallery instead.
Sometimes, yes - but it depends on which platform you want to use. Packz.io and Underdog Rips are both strictly off-limits in NV right now. But all the other card ripping sites we reviewed above are available in The Silver State.
