SweepsUSA has burst onto the US sweepstakes casino scene and I’ve had the job of testing it to see how it shapes up to the competition and what it offers for new customers in this opening SweepsUSA review.
I’m pretty happy with what I saw to start with as the site has 1,800+ casino-style games, a great range of Gold Coin (GC) and Sweeps Coin (SC) promotions, and a fun patriotic website design that heavily features the red, white, and blue colors. If you want to learn more, read on for my full breakdown.
To start this SweepsUSA review, I did a scan of the site after creating my login to look for core features like regulatory compliance and customer support options.
SweepsUSA is legit. I’ve got no doubts about this. You can’t make real money deposits here, and you can only ever play the games using GC or SC. No purchase is necessary to play here, and it uses geoblocking tools to make sure only legal people can sign up.
If you need help, use the live chat! I did it a couple of times and I was connected with a human within 5-10 minutes. Email support is also an option, but this is much slower than the live chat. Lastly, you’ve got a limited FAQ section with some basic info about how the site works.
SSL encryption is used for all data transfers which should protect you from malicious attacks. Also, the site features standard pages like a privacy policy, terms and conditions, and responsible social gaming.
SweepsUSA supports optional Gold Coin (GC) packages that start from $2.99. From my experience, I think these GC packages are OK in terms of value, and I was able to make purchases using Visa, MasterCard, Google Wallet, or Apple Pay. Sweeps Coins (SC) redemptions are a thing too - you need 100 SC minimum, to have played with your bonus SC 1x, and to have fully verified your ID. I was able to make redemptions using bank transfer and the processing times seem pretty good as I got my prize within 3 business days.
I expect the game library at SweepsUSA to expand over time as it’s a new site, but already I found a pretty comprehensive library with most of the game genres I like to play.
The casino-style games are provided by well-known producers like Hacksaw Gaming, 3 Oaks Gaming, Betsoft, ELA Games, Gaming Corps, Kalamba, Mancala, NetGaming, Playson, Red Rake Gaming, and Onlyplay. I’ve played games from most of these producers before, and I’m happy that they offer fair titles that have been tested by 3rd party labs.
I had fun browsing the slot library as they feature a top collection from two of my favorite retro slot producers - 3 Oaks Gaming and Playson. I like the classic 3-reel slot mechanics combined with the modern animations and the exciting Hold and Win bonus rounds. Some particular games I enjoyed playing here include Big Catch Hold and Win, Coins of Ea, Spring Tails, and Chilli Pop.
My face immediately lit up when I saw that SweepsUSA has slots from Hacksaw Gaming. If you read my other reviews, you’ll usually see that I rave about this developer. I think they have some of the most creative and engaging slots available and their bonus rounds have become the stuff of legend. While this social casino doesn’t feature the complete Hacksaw library, you can enjoy plenty of their popular titles like Le Bandit, RIP City, Slayers Inc., WantedDead or a Wild, and Ze Zeus.
I was disappointed while creating this SweepsUSA review to NOT see any live dealer games. Now, there looks to be a placeholder for this game category, so I expect that they will add titles in the future. However, for now, you only have access to a limited range of single player table games which includes blackjack, baccarat, and HiLo.
Interestingly enough, I did notice that they have a range of random table game tournaments which is a feature I’ve not seen at many other sweepstakes casinos. Usually you will find that they offer slot tournaments instead. The tournaments were mainly for the single player blackjack games and they looked to have decent prize pools.
Usability is important to me as I want a smooth gaming experience without any hassle and I think that SweepsUSA offers that. Both versions of the site work fine, and I like the overt patriotic design.
As the name would suggest, this sweepstakes casino is all about the google old US of A and that is shown via the overt patriotism in the theme, color scheme, and branding. I love it! They have the cool Eagle mascot who is present on most of the pages, and the red, white, and blue colors continue throughout. For me, it’s one of the better sweepstakes casinos you will find in terms of style and theme.
The usability isn’t lacking either though as you’ve got a simple menu to manage your account, browse the game library, and check out the promos. I always found the page speeds to be fast, and I checked every page on the site and found no errors or missing content. From a development viewpoint, the site looks to have been created using the latest technologies, and I think you should be able to have a fun and smooth experience using it.
I wasn’t holding out for a mobile app, and I was right - while making my SweepsUSA review I didn’t find any downloadable app. That’s fine though, as they have made a mobile-responsive version of the site that works just as good. I tested it using Opera on my Samsung Galaxy and it basically worked the same as the desktop site. You get a cleaner interface and layout though, that works much better on the smaller screen size. Also, I tested a large amount of the games, and each one I played was mobile-optimized.
I won’t go into full details about the bonuses here as you can read my separate review. However, I did get a nice welcome bonus, plus find loads of other promotional features without using any SweepsUSA promo codes.
Usually when I sign up with a new sweepstakes casino I will get some type of welcome bonus, and SweepsUSA gave me 10,000 Gold Coins and 3 Sweeps Coins. This is above the average from my experience, as most social casinos usually give at least 7,500 GC and 2 SC. I also saw two optional discounted Gold Coin packages that new customers could purchase:
Both of these packages are in-line with what I expect from sweepstakes casinos, and after I had created my account, I treated myself to the $24.99 package to give myself a boost. Overall, this is a solid welcome package and a great start for new customers - you can get superb playability from it and really dig into their games library.
I took the time to look at the other promotions and gamification features this site offers - I was impressed! They offer most of the standard sweepstakes casino bonuses I expect including the following:
Oh yes! Out of all of the new sweepstakes casinos I’ve reviewed recently, I think I had the most fun making this SweepsUSA review. It has loads of promise, and I think that it already has 95% of the features I expect social casinos to have. You’ve got a great game selection, some fantastic promotions, and a highly usable website.
Sure, there isn’t a mobile app and I want to see live dealer games added, but perhaps these things will come in time. Right now though, if you use our banners or links and get signed up, I think you’ll be able to have plenty of fun with the 10,000 GC and 3 SC welcome bonus.
Only in the USA. You need to be over 18 or 21 to sign up here, and you can’t live in these states - Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia.
Nope. While you do have the chance to redeem SC for cash prizes, you can only ever directly play the games using your GC or SC, which gives you the chance of getting GC or SC prizes back.
Sure! I’ve played at this site a lot and I am happy that it follows US sweepstakes regulations. You can only ever play the games using GC or SC, there’s no real money deposits, and I didn’t feel like I HAD to make any GC purchases to play the games.
I got 1,000 GC and 0.20 SC every 24 hours as a lump sum, and also the option to spin the daily prize wheel for additional GC and/or SC prizes.
