MegaBonanza has added Fish Tales: Cowboy Catch Max Scatter to its lineup, the newest entry in Booming Games' fishing-themed slot series and one built on the same Max Scatter system the studio has been rolling out across the franchise this year.
It lands on the platform with the same 80-GC minimum spin and 10,000x maximum multiplier as its closest sibling release, and it brings the series' now-familiar mix of Wilds, Free Spins, and the Barrel Boost feature along with it, all playable for free on the

What Max Scatter Changes
The Max Scatter mechanic is what sets this batch of Fish Tales releases apart from Booming Games' earlier entries in the series.
There are regular scatter symbols, where 3-5 symbols can get you 10-20 Free Spins. However, Max Scatter symbols can also win anywhere from 100x to 10,000x the play amount, in addition to triggering the Free Spins round.
Every Scatter and Max Scatter that lands, whether it wins immediately or not, still gets swept into a collection pot running in the background, and that pot is what eventually feeds into the round's bigger feature. It's a small structural shift from the standard Scatter-triggered spins formula most fishing slots still run on, since even a spin that doesn't land a bonus can quietly move a player closer to one.
Barrel Boost and The Collection Loop
The collection pot is where Barrel Boost comes in, and the feature can go off at pretty much any point in the base game rather than waiting on a fixed number of spins, so it never feels like the game is just stalling toward one predictable moment.
Free Spins add another layer. Wilds start collecting Fish symbols as they land, and both get tracked along a trail that builds up in the background, eventually unlocking multipliers as high as 10x, or in some rounds tacking on up to 20 extra spins before things wrap up.
There's also a BOOST+ option sitting in the base game for anyone who'd rather pay upfront and shift the odds a bit than leave the whole thing to chance.
Where This Fits in The Fish Tales Lineup
It's the same core loop MegaBonanza has already brought over with earlier Fish Tales launches, Colossal Catch and Monster Bass among them, just reshuffled around new reel art and a new scatter count this time.
What's stayed consistent across the series is the studio's habit of stacking several collection mechanics on top of each other rather than relying on one single bonus round, so a spin that looks unremarkable on the surface can still be quietly building toward a Barrel Boost trigger underneath.
