If you’ve been on the internet for more than a few weeks, you’ve certainly heard about the “Drake curse” and the stories behind it. Contrary to the rumors, however, Drake has had his fair share of wins from sports betting.

However, goals from multiple-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi and Argentine striker Julian Alvarez would send Argentina to the final.

Drake wagered $300,000 on the high-profile game, making it one of his highest-profile losses this year. The Argentine National Team would go on to mock the rapper, posting a video on Instagram with the caption “Not Like Us,” a reference to a diss track from Drake's long-term rival, Kendrick Lamar.

🥊 Drake's Knockout Bet on Ngannou vs. Joshua

Canada's defeat wasn't Drake's only high-profile loss this year. The rapper had spent twice as much earlier in the year to back Francis Ngannou against Anthony Joshua, a fight that resulted in Joshua winning by KO in the second round. The $615,000 stake would've resulted in a $1.9 million payout if Ngannou had won the bout, leading many observers to attribute the boxer's disastrous showing to the Drake Curse.

🏈 A Touchdown Bet: Drake’s Super Bowl Win with the Chiefs

Not all of Drake's high-profile bets end in losses; the Canadian rapper had earlier predicted the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers, a bet that eventually turned out successful. Drake wagered a whopping $1.15 million on the match, making it the boldest prediction he made last year. The bet paid off big, as he got a whopping $2.3 million payout after a rollercoaster match that saw the Chiefs come from behind to win the Super Bowl again.

🥋 UFC 300: Drake's Win on Perreira vs. Hill

Fans were expecting a Jamahal Hill victory at the UFC 300 fight against Alex Perreira following a string of unsuccessful bets that reinforced the ‘Drake Curse' rumors. Surprisingly, Drake would win the bet, with Alex Perreira ending the match early by knocking out Jamahal Hill in the first round. His $675,000 wager paid out just under $1.2 million after the fight, making it one of Drake's highest-profile wins this year so far.
