1. NFL Playoffs
I can’t believe that we are already at NFL Week 14/15! It seems like only yesterday when the preseason action was starting and we were seeing the 2024 rookie class in action. As you will know, there are 18 NFL regular season weeks and after that, the playoffs! This means that we only have 3-4 weeks left of regular season action.
At the moment, the Chiefs, Bills, Eagles, Lions, and Vikings all have exceptional records and are looking to be strong playoff contenders for the 2024-25 season. At social sportsbooks now you will already be able to make futures social picks on playoff predictions and beyond that you will also be able to make social picks for your Super Bowl predictions.
At the time of writing this, the following teams were in the top spots of their relative divisions:
- AFC East: Buffalo Bills
- AFC West: Kansas City Chiefs
- AFC North: Pittsburgh Steelers
- AFC South: Houston Texans
- NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles
- NFC West: Seattle Seahawks
- NFC North: Detroit Lions
- NFC South: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
2. NFL Super Bowl
I know I’m getting a little ahead of myself, but we can start looking forward to Super Bowl LIX now right? This year, the game will be on February the 9th at the Caesars Superdome and you can guarantee that most social sportsbooks like Rebet, Fliff, and Sportzino will have a heap of promotions and boosts relating to the game. Rebet is particularly a good choice for NFL and You can check our

My current prediction for who will be in the Super Bowl is the Kansas City Chiefs from the AFC and the Detroit Lions from the NFC. However, as I mentioned above, there is strong contention and several teams have been playing incredible, including the Vikings, Eagles, Bills, and Steelers.
3. NBA Emirates Cup
Now, I know that a lot of people aren’t fans of the NBA Emirates Cup and don’t really understand what it’s about. I’m completely the opposite! I think it’s a superb idea that helps break up the lengthy NBA regular season and gives teams something else to compete for. You only have to look at the competition last year and the quality of the matches to see what a great idea it is.
I was also lucky enough to watch the semi finals and final last year in Las Vegas and the atmosphere in the stadium was unbelievable. Social sportsbooks like Sportzino are featuring the Emirates Cup heavily already and there’s plenty of futures social picks available for who you think will walk away with the cup. If you want to get started there, check out our

At the time of writing this, the group stages are finished, the wild cards sorted, and the quarter-final matchups finalized:
- Milwaukee Bucks vs Orlando Magic
- New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks
- Oklahoma City Thunder vs Dallas Mavericks
- Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors
I think it will play out like this - Milwaukee beat the Magic with Giannis popping off for 50pts while New York will prove too much for Atlanta. I think Milwaukee will then beat the Knicks as they will want to redeem themselves after their poor show against the Pacers last year.
In the West, I think Luka will go nuclear and together with Kyrie they will topple OKC, while I think the Rockets will get redemption against the Warriors. I then expect Dallas to dominate the Rockets, resulting in a Dallas / Milwaukee final! Ultimately, with how Luka and Kyrie are currently playing, I expect Dallas to take the cup!

4. NBA Playoffs
I can’t believe the NBA regular season is already nearly 1/3rd complete! We’ve got the NBA Emirates Cup to look forward to first, but after that, and the All Star Break, we can then turn our attention to the playoffs. I’ve seen plenty of futures social picks available already at social sportsbooks, including picks for Eastern and Western conference champions and who will win the chip.
It’s difficult to say who I think are top contenders at this stage, although there are some teams who have played consistently so far. OKC are by far the strongest team in the West - they are still dominating despite Chet being injured. I expect Dallas to be up there too as they seem to be pushing past their sluggish start.
In the East, it’s essentially Boston and Cleveland who are by far the strongest teams. I still think the Celtics will ultimately prevail in the East, but I think the Cavs are being grossly underestimated and they have come a long way since last year.
5. Australian Open
The Australian Open is not my favorite Grand Slam - I prefer Wimbledon. But, it’s the first Grand Slam of 2025 and it’s always an exciting tournament to kick the year off. Current men's top seeds for the tournament are as follows:
- Novak Djokovic
- Carlos Alcaraz
- Daniil Medvedev
- Jannik Sinner
- Andrey Rublev
I expect Djokovic to be seeking retribution after his semifinal loss last year to the eventual champion Jannik Sinner, but he has been slowing down recently and this could be the mark of a new era where we see Alcaraz and Sinner truly starting to dominate. The women’s rankings are as follows:
- Iga Swiatek.
- Aryna Sabalenka.
- Elena Rybakina.
- Coco Guaff.
- Jessica Pegula.
Can Sabalenka pull off her third Australian Open title in a row? She managed to defend last year against Zheng Qinen and she didn’t even lose a set during the entire tournament.
Whatever happens, I’m hoping for some amazing play from both the men and women, and I’ll definitely be making a few social picks on social sportsbooks like Fliff and Sportzino a few weeks before the action on who I think will win! When people ask,
is Fliff legit?, and other social sportsbooks, I usually show them the quality of coverage for markets like Grand Slam Tennis, NFL, and the NBA for a little convincing!
The upcoming sporting calendar looks to be incredible
I’m personally most looking forward to the NBA Emirates Cup after experiencing it first-hand last year in Vegas. I’m hoping the Bucks can take it, but either way, it’s one of the top events for social sportsbooks for sure.
I’ll also be watching the rest of the NFL regular season closely to see how things are shaping up for the playoffs. The NBA regular season is of course ploughing on, and we get the All Star Game in February, and then the playoffs after that.
As a tennis fan, I’ll also be anticipating the 2025 Australian Open which will mark the first Grand Slam tournament of the new year. What a time to be a sports fan! That’s just the first half of the year, after that, social sportsbooks will still be packed with plenty of action, matches, and tournaments.
