I’ll start my BigPirate review by sharing news of their welcome bonus. I received 10,000 Gold Coins (GCs), 2 Diamonds, and 2 Rum just for signing up. Once I’d verified my email, I got another 10,000 GCs.
I’ll take you through those virtual currencies here, so you know what to expect. You can play a variety of social games at BigPirate, as they have table games, scratch cards, and more, alongside the usual slots. You don’t need to purchase extra GCs, but BigPirate provides lots of payment methods should you wish to do so.
I received three things when I joined BigPirate:
I soon realized that they provide Diamonds in place of the traditional Sweeps Coins other sweepstakes casinos use. As for Rum, it’s a separate virtual currency you can collect and use to enter the Reward Market. There, you can exchange Rum for various things, including spins on slots.
I didn’t need a BigPirate promo code to claim the offer, but watch for any details here in case something comes up. You’ll find any codes or special offers via the banners displayed on this page.
It turned out the above collection of Gold Coins, Diamonds, and Rum was just the start of the welcome bonus, though. Once I had completed the KYC requirement of verifying my email (or SMS as relevant), I received another 10,000 Gold Coins to play with. That was ideal to help me settle in.
I spotted the pirate theme from the moment I arrived on their website. BigPirate looks professional and has various themed logos and icons to help draw you in. For example, a gold star with a pirate hat atop it reveals the top titles you can play. Here’s what else I noticed when I started at BigPirate sweepstakes casino.
You won’t need to download an app if you’d rather visit BigPirate on your smartphone or tablet. I visited the site using several devices while writing my BigPirate review, and didn’t have any issues at any point. It looks good even on a smaller screen.
I’ll cover these in more detail shortly, but while some sweepstakes casinos limit themselves to offering slot games, BigPirate goes bigger by providing titles in many other categories as well. Expect to see some scratch cards and table games among other things.
These will obviously change over time, but when I arrived at BigPirate sweepstakes casino, I noticed they promoted these aspects of the site among others. They promise daily and weekly challenges that you can try and finish to secure more Gold Coins to play with.
I’ve reviewed other new sweepstakes casinos that have felt a bit sparse to start with, even if they’ve grown into something better. However, BigPirate has begun on a strong note, offering plenty of features and highlights at the start. Let’s look at the main areas of interest now.
Lots of sweepstakes casinos use Gold Coins for social gameplay, and the same holds true for BigPirate. I guessed that the Diamonds might be their version of Sweeps Coins, used only for sweepstakes play, and that proved to be true as well.
You can keep track of your Gold Coins, Diamonds, and Rum via the menu. You’ll see buttons to make optional Gold Coin purchases and to make redemptions for Diamond winnings through play, too. You’ll get a range of social gaming types via the main menu as well, so you’ll easily find whatever you fancy trying.
As for Rum, I started collecting those to swap for other features on the site. I could decide when I wanted to use them, swapping them for things like spins on slots I wanted to play. Keep track of your total by looking for the cartoon rum bottle.
I soon spotted some familiar titles to play, including Le Bandit from Hacksaw Gaming, and another popular slot called Buffalo Power: Hold & Win. While I expected to find a good range of slots, I was pleased to see they reached into four figures.
And BigPirate doesn’t stop with the slots either. If you like to find some variety at a sweepstakes casino, you will get it at BigPirate. While writing my BigPirate review, I tried some scratch cards, table games, and some live titles too.
I particularly appreciated the top social games category though, with Starburst XXXTreme, Bonsai Gold, and Gold Nugget Rush among the possibilities landing in there. It obviously changes to reflect what players are enjoying just now, too.
I’ve reviewed some sweepstakes casinos that rely on just one or two providers to give their players some slots to play. However, this proved to be another area where BigPirate has made some effort to widen the collection.
I was delighted to see the likes of Hacksaw Gaming and NetEnt in the collection. I also noted Evolution, a popular provider of live casino-style games. You will also see titles coming in from Wazdan and Evoplay, with over a dozen providers on the list to date.
I never know whether I’ll find a VIP program at any sweepstakes casino, so I was pleased to find BigPirate has one. Better still, I was introduced to level one upon signing up there.
You’ve got five levels to explore, and as usual, you’ll progress by playing some of their social casino games and hopefully reaching new levels. They’ve used the pirate theme well here, as you’ll begin in the lowly Deckhand position and aim to reach the top level of Admiral.
I’ve found limited options at some competing sweepstakes casinos, so I was impressed with how well BigPirate Casino does in this area. If you want a few methods to choose from, they certainly deliver on that count.
There’s no need to purchase any GCs at any point, since you’ve got lots of ways to collect more. However, if you do decide to purchase some, you can do so via methods including Visa, Mastercard, bank transfers, and Trustly. They’ve also provided Google Pay and Apple Pay, which works well if you decide to access BigPirate via your mobile device.
You’ll need to win at least 50 Diamonds through sweepstakes play to get the chance to redeem them for a real prize, subject to their sweepstakes rules. Be prepared to provide some photo ID to confirm who you are and where you live before you can complete the Diamonds redemption process.
It looks like you can use most, if not all, payment methods for Diamond redemptions at BigPirate, but since it’s a new site, do check what’s available to choose from before you proceed. You’d usually use the same method you previously used to make any optional GC purchases.

BigPirate hasn’t been around too long, but they’ve started well by offering live chat along with email support. You can contact them anytime of the day or night, too. I found the response time varies depending on when you get in touch, but I did always get a response when testing the live chat, which hasn’t always been true of similar services at other sweepstakes casinos.
I also found a help center, which uses colorful logos to identify various sections. Those include info on promotions and technical topics among many others. I only used the live chat facility to test it for this review - I found plenty of details in the help center.

BigPirate is legit - something I could easily confirm when visiting the website. I found a copyright notice at the foot of the BigPirate website, confirming it is available to those aged 21 and up.
Sweepstakes casinos don’t need to carry a license, but I was able to confirm they’re available in 40 US states at present. You can’t play if you’re in Connecticut, Louisiana, Montana, New Jersey, Washington, Idaho, Michigan, Nevada, New York, or California.
Rafflefy Limited operates the BigPirate service and website, as confirmed in the blurb at the bottom of their site. They’re based in Cyprus, and you can see their full address displayed there too.
If you enjoy playing a good mix of social casino games, you’ll find thousands at BigPirate. They use traditional Gold Coins for social play and Diamonds for sweepstakes play. You’ll also collect bottles of Rum to use for gamification purposes, adding another perk to the site.
I had a great time choosing and finding casino-style games to play, especially as they provide more than just slots. Check out the table games, scratch cards, and other options there too. You can visit BigPirate using one of the links I’ve given you here, to see for yourself how wide-ranging those titles are, and to sign up and collect your first lot of 10,000 Gold Coins, along with 2 Diamonds and 2 Rum to start with.
Yes - it’s a sweepstakes casino providing ownership details and a registered address on its website. It’s run by Rafflefy Limited, a company based in Cyprus.
BigPirate is a sweepstakes casino, and such sites do not need to hold a license. It does follow all current sweepstakes rules, and provides its services in 40 US states at present, to those aged 21 and over.
You cannot win real prizes directly through playing their casino-style games. If you play with Diamonds and you win more Diamonds through play, you can redeem your Diamond winnings for a gift card or cash prize if you meet all their sweepstakes rules and conditions.
