So just in case you didn't know, the NCAA Division 1 men's basketball tournament is a competition between college basketball teams from all over the US. It has been running since way back in 1939 and has been branded as March Madness. This is because it usually takes place in March and its unpredictable nature means that it is perfect for serving up some crazy basketball entertainment.
The NCAA tournament structure has evolved over the years, and it now features a single-elimination bracket featuring 68 teams. UCLA has proven to be the most victorious team in NCAA history winning 11 titles, while the UConn Huskies won the last March Madness in 2024.
To make it to March Madness, all of the relevant college basketball teams have to prove their worth over the preceding season and to be selected on Selection Sunday, just before the tournament actually begins.
