Okay, back to the event contracts. The price on these contracts range from $0.01 to $0.99. Winning positions are settled at $1, while losing positions are settled at $0. If there is sufficient market volume and liquidity, you are also allowed to close your positions early by selling your contracts, provided another trader is willing to purchase that contract.

The price of each contract is based on supply and demand. Thanks to that, their price often reflects what the market believes is the probability of an event happening. For example, if a contract has the Kansas City Chiefs beating the Dallas Cowboys at $0.75, it means traders believe the Chiefs have a 75% chance of winning.
