Google released its latest flagship AI model on October 13, 2026. Strangely, that doesn't necessarily settle Kalshi's prediction market on the next Gemini Pro release. The problem isn't when Google launched Gemini 4 Argon. It's whether the model qualifies under the market's rules.
For traders holding October contracts, that distinction could be worth considerably more than the announcement itself.
Kalshi traders have been pricing contracts around several release deadlines. Historical snapshots showed growing confidence in an October launch.
The November 1 contract was priced at 64%, leaving a 36% implied chance that Google would miss October. That's hardly overwhelming confidence, especially after the company failed to deliver Gemini 3.5 Pro on its original schedule.
A Yes contract costing 70 cents would return $1 if the prediction comes true. Buy 100 contracts for $70, and the potential gross profit is $30 before fees. Get the date wrong, and that $70 is gone.
That's the tradeoff on prediction market sites. A seemingly likely outcome isn't automatically a good trade when the contract price already reflects that expectation.
Gemini 4 Argon became publicly available on October 13, bringing new coding, reasoning, mathematics, and scientific research capabilities. Its API supports a 1,048,576-token context window, with introductory prices of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens.
There's no question Google released a major AI model.
The naming is where things get messy. Argon doesn't carry the Gemini Pro name, even though Google's AI Pro subscribers can access it. A subscription tier and a model designation aren't the same thing.
Kalshi's rules require public availability outside a closed beta, and paid subscription access can qualify. Whether Argon meets the model requirement is a separate question.
For someone holding a Yes position, getting Google's release date right might not be enough.
No new Pro-branded release date has been confirmed.
Gemini 3 Pro Preview launched November 18, 2025. Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview followed on February 19, 2026, just 93 days later.
That gap looks useful until Google's next scheduled release enters the picture. Gemini 3.5 Pro was expected in June 2026, but never arrived as planned. Instead, Google eventually introduced Argon under a different name.
There's little reason to treat 93 days as a dependable release cycle.
Anyone following tech prediction markets should pay closer attention to Google's official model names, public access dates, and Kalshi's settlement rules than to rumored launch schedules.
October already delivered a flagship Gemini model. Whether that earns a winning payout on Kalshi is another matter.
